We went to Sweeden to get some groceries and some riding shoes for me as i destroyed them by walking EVERYWHERE and we were also getting a safety vest for my sister. I ended up getting my shoes and i also bought a saddle pad that i hope fits as i forgot to check Nick's size before we left.

I have not had a break from riding I just have not had the energy to post anything, but anyway. 2 weeks ago, soon 3 weeks i went to my first show of the year, it is a school show where you can only use horses at the barn. You can request horses, but it is not a guarantee you will get them as they need some breaks. When I got there we found out two of the horses had escaped so we used one hour to find them. I asked for either Bordtis (a fjord and also one of the fastest horses there) and Fanny (a 5 year old fjord mix). Because the universe is not a fan of me i of course got the five year old, there were two other people riding her before me, and Fanny refused and turned to the side of the jump all the time, both of them fell off. So when i prepared to ride her i repeated to her "be nice plz" over and over again. Apparently she understood me as she was an angel and never refused or stopped. Then it was the second round, she turned away from the first jump 5+ times before going over it and being decent, she refused a couple more and also ran into the jump s. Overall the last one wasn't great, but i didn't complain as i was the only one who rode her that didn't fall off. We didn't win anything tho, but that's fine.

both mine and Nick's confidence has grown, i haven't galloped with him because he has a bad habit of running wherever he wants and that isn't always safe and sometimes when he gets too excited he can buck. I am planning on cantering with him soon tho, our trail rides is what i think has become best. I still sometimes have to go off to take him with me and he still spooks easily when the other horses is not there, but we are getting better.

I might get a work to ride deal with somebody next week, in the start we will only be able to ride a 16 year old thoroughbred that is a showjumper, but it might be possibilities to ride her other horses. She has one 9 year old stallion and a 4 year old ex-trotter. I might not be able to ride the trotter, but if i get to handle him from the ground i am sold. We went to meet them on Wednesday and i fell in love with the trotter.

last saturday my favorite lesson horse had to be put down because of a very bad collic, surgery was not an option. Bordtis was only 14 years old and loved by every rider at the barn. The students at the barn has made a lot of videos showing their to our instructor. Sørårsensbordtefaks aka Bordtis was our instructors heart horse, just as he was for many others, RIP.
