<•>Everyone should be able to ride their horse in a neckrope<•>
There are exceptions to this, if your horse is green, or not mentally in the right mind space, you are green or you don't know eachother yet. But in my opinion everyone should have the level of connection and communication necessary to ride in a neckrope. Some horses might never be ready but if they can be trained for it i see no reason not to.
<•>A spade bit is not damaging in the right hands<•>
The spade bit looks very damaging, but in the right hands it isn't really that bad. It is made to be ridden one handed and on a 'finished' horse, with a fair and skilled rider. It shouldn't be used with more than light cues, but if used wrong it will as everything be damaging.
<•>It is almost never a child's fault<•>
People blame children like Harlow for picking up bad habits hey are taught. Children are easily influenced by people like their instrucors and rarely decide to do something that is damaging to a horse, on their own. But once they pick up the habit it is hard to get rid of.
<•>Not all warmbloods needs blankets<•>
It is common knowledge that not all horses need blankets in the winter, but surprisingly few acknowledge that this goes for warmbloods too. If a horse shows signs of being cold, it needs a blanket, but that doesn't go for every horse of that breed.
<•>Horses does not need halters in turnout<•>
I am a firm believer that horses doesn't need halters in turnout. In my opinion the risks of getting stuck and hurt is worse than having some light issues in catching. There are exceptions for larger barns with tons of horses where the halter can be used as identification, but then it should be a breakaway halter.

I agree with the spade bit opinion…but I do see it misused all too often :/
It is definitely misused by a lot of people who doesn't know how, or just don't care.

Agree. These bits are for fully finished horses
I work at a few horse rescues and stables + ride at one as well, and honestly, I’ve never paid much attention to it, but we never turn out horses out in a halter/etc. the only reason why (if we do) is because some may be harder to catch if they’re new and don’t know our stable routines/etc
I agree with all! Although the neck rope I never thought about. I think for most it’s a foal for look up to but I do like that
Could you explain the last sentence please

Oh lord :joy: I just read that back, I think for most it is a goal to look up to but I do love that!

Ok :joy:
I agree with all of these!
Yep. Especially when that kid has stopped doing it but is still getting people nit picking their every move.
And halters definitely agree with, no horse should have a halter on in their field. If your horse is hard to catch, so you put a halter on. You fix it, not chuck a halter on thinking that solves it. As I see that being an excuse a lot. Figure out why your horse is running away from you, not to you to be caught. Don’t use a halter to try make things easier because it will and may make thinks worse. :see_no_evil:
Blankets def too, only put a rug on if your in a cold as hell climate, your horse is clipped, and if the horse is actually shivering. Or if the ice/snow on the fur is melting, that’s a sign the fur isn’t doing what it’s meant to do. If the snow/ice is just sitting there, the fur is doing its job. Doesn’t need a rug.
I feel quite a few people ‘baby’ their horses too much.🥹
