Rode Cracker!

I volunteered today and there was a reward ride! When I saw on the whiteboard that I would be riding Cracker I had... mixed feelings. I was excited that I was riding a horse I'd never ridden before, but a bit nervous because he is really stubborn. I tacked him up and led him into the arena and mounted. First we all walked around the arena to warm up the horses. Oh and there were 7 volunteers riding so it was a bit crowded and chaotic. And it didnt help that it was one if the peoples first time riding :joy:

After a bit some of the people started to trot so I tried to get cracker to trot. He would NOT trot. No matter what I did. I asked the instructor person to help and she was just like 'kick him harder. You are hardly touching him'. I was kicking very hard :joy:

Eventually I got him to trot, and even went over some poles which was a first for me!

Cracker kept randomly walking to the middle of the arena and stopping and not moving. It was really annoying :joy:

In the corner there was this big ball and if you ride a horse over to it they will kick it! It's really cute! Cracker loves it :joy:

After riding for about half an hour we hopped off and untacked and groomed the horses. Then we but them away and by then my dad had come to pick me up so I left.

So that's how my fifth ride went! :horse:

Heres a photi of me going over the poles

Lol if you ever ride cracker again, and if he keeps going into the center of the arena and stopping, try to be ten steps ahead of your horse or your horse will be ten steps ahead of you. 🤗 so every time you feel him slowing down kick him and if he goes into the center of the arena kick your inside leg and use your outside rein to get him back to the rail :yum:
