Regionals with Topeyyyy

I’m like a million years late to make this post but ohwelllllll. THe other weekend, 11 August I went to regionals, can’t believe I actually made it through. It was quite a longgggg day and I was super tired.

I had to wake up super early for boxing duty but my class was only 10 hours later🙄

We woke up at 3am, left house at 3:45am and got to the yard at 4:15. We then waited until horse truck arrived at 4:30 and it took like 5 minutes to load the horses.

It was nice to box Topaz atleast 🤷🏻‍♀

The horses then arrived at the venue at 6:30am and I went to go check on Topaz to make sure she was fine, and I noticed something that made me so happy... they managed To perfectly braid Topaz mane even though she has such a broken and uneven mane🤦🏻‍♀ :sweat_smile:

We then just waited until we got what’s happening and such, so I obviously had to take photos with my baby girl :heart_eyes:

In the mean time, we waited soooo long, I was just taking photos of other riders, going into tack stands, crying over how expensive breeches were and also cuddling the bored Topaz, who was super tired and fell asleep on my head (she’s really heavy) :sweat_smile:

I then went to go take moreee photos of riders and their beautiful ponies :heart_eyes: became very biased and was only taking pictures of the high jumpers :sweat_smile:

Then went to Topaz again, she wanted my waterrr :sweat_smile:

At about two or three is when I finally got to hop on and can I just say... TOPAZ WAS MAD, in the three weeks of her being the most calm horse in the world, she had to choose show day to be mad and throw bucks and not co-operate🥴

We did lots of circles and learning how to do transitions all over again in the flat warm up arena🙄 :sweat_smile:

We then went to the jumping arena, where she was pretty alright but still kind of crazy🥴

We then went into our class. She was pretty alright, she just wanted to go most of the time so a walk was very close to a trot, which isn’t good in equitation🥴 she was throwing bucks over some jumps and the judges wrote on my page “horses bum too high over jumps” like uhhhh what must I do :sweat_smile:

but anyway I did pretty well for how she was being, I hadn’t ridden crazy Topaz for long since she was calm for a long period where she wasn’t bucking or being mad unless spooked🤷🏻‍♀

We then finish and it was time for horses to go home so I took Topaz braids out and man I love her curly hair :heart_eyes:

Even though her mane is very messed up when curly :sweat_smile: :sweat_smile: 🤦🏻‍♀ now you can see why I’m surprised they made nice braids :sweat_smile: she even has a chunk missing but can’t see
