Nice Day, Nice Pics

It’s been a bit, but school is still killing me. Although I haven’t been on all that much, I have still been riding and showing quite a bit!

Since I haven’t competed in any all-day shows at all this year, I decided I should do at least one since the weather was so nice! This show was at the usual arena that I show at and they have this particular show 4 times a year.

First off, the riding club’s queen who’s also my friend asked me to carry the flag for the national anthem so ya, I did that, it was actually pretty fun! Glad I did it

Then we continued on with the show. My first class was showmanship but I’m actually not too sure what I got in that... I’m bad at ing my placings in which class. I’ll probably at the end. After that, I had about an hour and a half plus an hour lunch break until my next class because I was skipping all but one pleasure class.

During this time, I mainly enjoyed hanging out with Lyndy. She’s too cute not to hang out with! And eating, why not eat even though you just ate when you’re on lunch break? I even gave Lyndy a lil snack. While we still had time, I went over to the trail course to do the pattern. It actually went pretty well! I don’t work on trail obstacles all that much but I was pretty content with how we did without that practice. I placed 2nd in Ranch Trail and 3rd in regular Trail.

After trail, my first class was my only pleasure class, Ranch pleasure. I mainly do Ranch classes because Lyndy was originally trained as a cutting and sorting (cow) horse. This usually means that your horse wants to go faster when they trot/lope. Since I have also been training Lyndy in contesting, she really enjoys going faster. Since pleasure classes usually have walk, trot, extended trot, and lope (rare cases there’s extended lope), I trained Lyndy more voice commands such as ‘slow’ or ‘fast’. The way I taught her to do this was she was either to go slower or faster without breaking her gait. Like, I may say ‘slow’ when she’s at a moderate/fast trot to make her do a slow trot.

But anyways, I got second in Ranch Pleaure! :+1:

I had several other classes after that which I don’t really what happened in them but oh well!

I did get first in the patterned western riding class, so proud of myself. Wanna know why? I did terrible in that class, but I was the only person in the class :sunglasses: *cheated the system*
