My riding story.

The Beginning

I started riding when I was 7. I went to a barn 2 of my sisters previously went to. I was taught the basics by a guy named Jake mostly on a pony named Marty. Though I don't have any pictures of me riding him, this is a picture of him a few years after I stopped riding him.

Then I started riding other horses as well as Marty. Maggie and a few other horses. These are pictures of Maggie.

Then Jake quite and I got a new trainer. Her name was Britney. I still had a lot to learn because I went pretty slow. I was scared of going faster then a trot. Yeah. I know. Pathetic.

That same summer I started, I turned 8 and nothing changed. I rode different horses every ride. I don't have any pictures. But that winter I was just learning how to jump, even though I was still too scared to canter. I LOVED jumping. But that winter I had to stop because our house was being rebuilt and we just didn't have the money for more lessons.

Back In The Saddle Again.

It was now winter. Again. I was now 10. And I started lessons again!! Thiswas at a new barn but I was still taught by Britney. The new barn was so much bigger and so many more horses. A indoor ring AND outdoor! I started up again on an old lesson pony named Hostis. I had to completely restart. I had forgotten everything. I was bad.

Soon, once I had perfected Hostis (half a year) I went onto other ponies. The one I most , and still ride periodically, is Tinker Bell. I started riding her when I was 11. She gave me guts and skill. She made me the rider I am.

This may not seem like a hard pony, but she was bad. Basically every mare pony! I just don't have people filming me ride all the time. But I did my first canter on her. And I learned to sit refusals, bucks, bolts, and rears on her. She was my favorite. I even had my first fall on her.

We started advancing. We jumped higher and I learned more. We were soon put in a more difficult class taught by an older lady all the students called Miss Sarah. At this time all I saw in her was the bad. I did not like her. And I don't think she liked me! She never smiled. She was always SO stern. So I was NOT happy about switching to her. Miss Sarah was always pushing Tink and me really hard. Making us jump higher than I thought possible.

I though she hated us. Then things started to change. I went away on a vacation and missed a lesson. When I came back and entered the ring for my group lesson, Miss Sarah saw me and smiled. She said, "Oh, good! I got you today." That made me start to think. Another time a boy about 3 was playing with a small ukulele. Miss Sarah took asked to have it and sat next to him. She started playing a little song for him. That made me see more happiness in her then I thought was there. Soon I came to love having lessons with Miss Sarah. She was the best. She taught me new things. Around this time I aslo started working with my sister's horse, Bishop. He hadn't been ridden in years. He was very hard. He was slow and hard to keep going. So I worked with him alot.

New Horses

Sadness hit. I was now 12 and advancing. I wasn't riding Tink anymore. I was now riding bigger horses. Like Bugsy, who I did my first show on.

All were hard in there own ways. So right now I'm going to jump around in time. We are going to go back. As you no I had been starting to work with Bishop. Very difficult. At the new barn I was making a lot of friends (still am). After a lesson my friend Kitana came over. We, because we were stupid, decided to RIDE Bishop. She rode first. And that was a huge mistake. He started out just fine. But we went to a paddock they started to trot around. Now I should have closed the gate to the paddock. Which for some reason I didn't. Bishop and another much older pony, named Bobby, were inseparable. So when Bobby took off and galloped out of the field naturally Bishop galloped after him. And added in some bucks. Kitana fell off. She broke her arm. I felt very guilty. But in within 6 weeks, she was back to riding. ButI had decided to never ride Bishop again. Just ground work. For the rest of his life. Okay. Now jumping forward again. It wasnow sping and I was 12. And I didn't keep my promise.

I started riding Bishop again.

Hoss & Oaky

Still spring. I got a job! Just exercising these two western horses. Hoss was a fat aploosa. Oaky was a brown and white, fat paint.

This was amazing. I got to learn many new things. That same summer I went to a overnight horse camp for two weeks. I really liked it, though the other girls my age were very clicky and weren't eager to be my friends. But anyhow that was the first and last time I would ever go to the camp. When I was there I did my second show ever. Won 1st place in a grooming competition and 5th place in a flatwork class. Sadly they weren't doing jumping that year. Afterwards another year went by with the same stuff happening.

Another Start

One morning during last spring, Bobby, my sister's pony, couldn't get up. We had to call a vet to come and put him down. It was really rough. Bishop was heart broken because like I had said, they were inseparable. Our friends have a ram that needed a home up until the end of the summer. So he is staying with Bishop.

Well now I'm skipping to the present. I have been riding for 4 years. I have riden 43 horses and ponies. Bishop and I are getting better. I'm about to start teaching a girl my age how to ride on Hoss and Oaky. I will be leasing a big paint gelding named Tiny till the end of summer. I am currently looking for a horse of my own. I also have a much more fun time with Mrs. Sarah. Well, guys! This has been my riding story. I hope you have enjoyed.
