Crescent jewels envy (corrupted next gens)

Wow its been like a whole month or more??? I dont know, hello! And welcome to my madness, this series of drawings i have literally been working on for 3 years or so now and god do i need them to be finished XD

Today is jewel evergreen (eldest child of twilight and fluttershy)

I love the design and pose i did for this one, her villainous force that corrupted her is the pony of shadows, i tried really hard to give her the wings he has but it looked so weird on her that i ended up going with back spikes and a more prominent shadow like fur collar thing? I dont know what to call that, i also decided to add the alicorn amulet cuz i think it looks too similar to the pony of shadows to not be related in some way to him.

In of why she would be corrupted.. well shes kinda my main character in a sense for my next gen au and thus she has a lot of conflict involved in her story, i felt that due to those conflicts that the pony of shadows and alicorn amulet fit as the best corruption, I imagine she might have put on the alicorn amulet in the hopes to be as powerful as her mother but it only gave the pony of shadows an opportunity to reach and corrupt her further, the promise of finally being everything that she feels shes “expected” to be, only for it to be yet another lie

If i were to do this one again I would want to be more conscious of the values cuz its all so dark its hard to see all my details in there and due to that I would probably put her hair up but this image is meant to capture her like transformation so i can say that after she fully transforms she would look a bit different (like having her hair up)

Life is kicking me while im down so posts will still be sparse but i have a back log of art to post so look forward to that (including another corrupted next gen thats finished)
