Ante Up everypony!!

Once again! Hello and welcome to my blog. I am Fluffy Cake and today I have a pic that I drawn for one pony that really likes Black Jack. I took few pictures while drawing this art piece so you could see that this was originally made by me ^^

Piece of paper

Automatic pencil,

Eraser,

Black gel ink pen,

White gel pen,

Copic Markers

So, to begin with. This drawing took me about 8 hours to cemplete (yes I know I draw slowly, but as long as I am having fun I am happy about that).

To start drawing I needed to come up with a pose idea, it took me a while to come up with something good since at first I didn't knew how to draw this pony, my mind were hovering between "cute and cuddly" and "aggressive looking" poses, after some time of thinking and sketching I came up with decision to draw Black Jack in battle ready position.

Next. I wanted a shout out that the character would use when it is getting ready to fight. Some research have been done and I saw quote "Ante Up" this quote were described as one of the main quotes BJ is saying when getting ready to fight.

Armored legs was a must for this kind of drawing, adding this feature made me start liking the character more and more, since I have never drawn a pony that would have armor and this inspired me to design a gun that would go well with armor this pony wears, but, after looking up at some stories where this character appeared, it had to be modern and cool looking at the same time.

Even more designs of the drawing were made and finally, it was time to ink this piece.

Inking took some time to be finished. Multiple layers of ink gave a lot of visual effects for the piece making our hero to look more and more alive.

After a good hour of ink drying, the coloring part began, mane and tail had to be colored in black and white stripes, and armor legs were made out of light and dark gray pieces. When the colors were set up, finishing touches came in, white gell pen added a nice feel for the highlight needed places making the whole drawing pop out into next level making the pony feel more alive and ready to fight!
