Used a corner design and a border design, two copies each (rotated 180°) to make an 8” square quilt motif pictured. It is kind of difficult to see the design as it is tone on tone.
One thing I learned is that I need to buy a different embroidery thread that can handle a high speed machine. Even after setting the speed to the lowest stitches per minute, the thread continued to break,
I have had good luck with 40 wt Isacord Embroidery Thread on my mid-arm quilter, which is also a high speed machine compared to domestic sewing machines. So, I am going to do another test stitch using Isacord thread.

Maybe tensions issues wud help u use the thread? Or a thread stand?

Well boo. I'm certainly no expert, but I've spent a fair amount of time watching tutorials and taking some classes for sewing, and thought any thread could be used for these things if done correctly.

I agree with you. I should have been able to use this thread. However, I was able to break the thread by hand with little to no effort. So, it apparently just wasn’t up to the job. I even unwound a lot of thread off the spool, and tested more thread to see if it was just a bad section in the spool.
I have cut my hands and fingers so many times while trying to break a thread when I didn’t have scissors in reach (You would think I would learn lol.). But, if a thread breaks/snaps as this spool did I wouldn’t think of using it in a project.

Well yeah I don't think thread shud break that easily
It's really pretty! What are you going to do with it?
Thank you!
I have absolutely no idea what I am going to do with these samples. I guess I could frame them or make pillows. Got any suggestions?
FYI: Since this embroidery machine is brand new, I am doing test stitch outs to see how the machine functions with various fabric, stabilizers, and thread to see which works best together.
I just finished another piece exactly like the one I posted. However, I used Isacord thread. This test went fantastic. The thread did not break once, and the overall design looks so much better (cleaner/neater).
Eventually, I will use a design similar to this to make multiple 9” quilt blocks. Then, I’ll sew the blocks together using the quilt as you go method of quilting. I want to make a fancy tone-on-tone embroidered heirloom quilt for my granddaughter who is expected to arrive in May.
