2014-2015:

These were the moments where I'm at peak performance in Dota. School wasn't much of a problem and I had a lot of time to play. I finally mastered Windranger enough to rekt people with her and still escape even if I don't.

Here's a mistitled video of me force staff dodging a hook. FangZ Jr. is the younger student at school who buys tranquils boot on every Hero.

I'm not sure how this happened but I got really good at Naga once, never happened again.

At this moment in time most of the guys in my class plays Heroes of Newerth (HoN) and with only my friends group who plays Dota 2. We also got a new student around this time, his name is Knight and he also plays Dota 2 (not anymore though). He brought Warcraft 3 with the DotA hack in it to school and me and a couple of friends tried playing it after school. It took a long time till everyone got the files onto their computer but it was pretty fun in the end. The legacy keys were annoying and hard to press but we all enjoyed it, I think.

2016:

This is the year where I started my teaching experience. Two of my school friends, Nicolas & Mew wanted to play Dota 2 too so I decided to be their guide.

I had them start off with the tutorial (too bad the dragon knight sniper one isn't here anymore) because I know what happens when you don't play the tutorial ([my friend Lotte intensifies] "I'm too pro" I him saying).

Anyways I'm glad that certain guy was taking a break from Dota since if he s (he did a few times, but later on) he'd ruin the match. The match in the screenshot is with me, a classmate that plays HoN my friend Mew, Matt & Nicolas. You can probably tell from their stats and items that they're (except Matt) not very good. The HoN guy also took my fav hero so I'm stuck with Sven (forgot why I picked him, been a long time).

My two pupils (friends) lack a lot of map attention so I sometimes have to tell them all the time what's going on and try to get them into the habit of reporting missing heroes and watching other lanes. And also warding crucial spots since they sometimes play . The last part is mostly for Mew since she does that a lot. I also need to teach her item priorities such as having Blink Dagger on Lion is more important than Aghanim's Scepter.

I also took this chance to introduce them to my Amino friend Lucas (known as Re:Flux on here. Yes. The curator.). He is a really kind person and is also amazing at Dota, the ideal teammate. Although he doesn't play with them as much as I did, I'd say I couldn't have done it without his help :sweat_smile:

They progress quite a lot, even if we lost many matches because they sometimes do noob actions or were too scared to fight, but that's ok. It's all part of learning a game. The key is to not get mad at them or make them feel like giving up. Do they need a break from the game? Fine, but not for too long! :joy:

I don't think of this as a frustrating "teach noobs" kind of thing. As I know them in real life it's easier to talk to them about stuff outside of games and I know both of them are good students.

I also get to rekt noobs whenever I party alone with Mew. :blush:

This was around the time that Dota Amino was created, so I got to play with some of you :blush:

Although I haven't played with a lot of you, I hope to do so when my exams are finally over and I get free time in summer.

This was also when Reborn came out

2017:

By this time, I couldn't get time to play with my friends anymore. Matt, Mew & Nicolas left school as school got a lot more hard so there's barely time to play.

I also still do a bunch of practice bot matches with Lucas once in a while to hone my skills on hard heroes I don't play in pubs.

This was around the time where my friend-who-acts-retarded wants to play Dota 2 with me again. He usually tells me many stories of his feats but when I look at Dotabuff I can tell they're not true at all "30 kills 0 deaths!" more like "30 kills 23 deaths"

This was also one of my most memorable matches, I started off to try playing a warding Riki but since I'm playing with him I'm playing against noobs and 1 pro (Shadow Fiend). Me and SF are basically rivals in this match and we always try to kill each other.

After almost losing we managed to take all of their gems (one of them was our own) and we got a comeback! My friend was playing Sniper and he thinks he's the MVP. Smh all you did was ks and constantly kill Nyx Assassin (who I can kill easily).

This is my latest Dota match and probably my last with Lucas.... I'm not proud of this match at all, I mostly want to forget it. The enemies dragged the game past my bedtime and my mom got angry since she's always so stressed about me not sleeping early. And when we finally got the chance to push and win my friends were all saying "no we wait" and when I said I gtg they kept joking around. So yea I just took their rapier and went full push mid and forced them to follow me. I died haha. Then I buyback and tp back only to die again.

Not my proudest match, but I really want to show these guys to take things seriously whenever I'm in a bad mood. Doesn't help that one of them is a noob.
