Short story thing

*It's nighttime around 8 or 9 pm. Albert is getting tucked into bed*

Albert:

Father?

Wilson:

Yes?

Albert:

All your stories about The Constant are true, right?

Wilson:

Of course they're true! Why do you ask?

Albert:

I told my classmates about your tales in that place, the struggles and fights you went through. They all really liked them but the teacher told me that you were a liar.

Wilson:

Which teacher, Albert?

Albert:

Mrs Sticker. Y'know, the mean teacher.

Wilson:

Of course, it's Mrs Sticker. How in the name of science does her husband put up with her complaining?

Albert:

...

Wilson:

Albert, you and your sister are among some of my greatest achievements. I wouldn't dare lie to you two about my time in The Constant. Neither would your mother.

If it weren't for my imprisonment in that place, I would've continued wasting my life in this house, when it was just a hovel. I would've died a disgraceful, lonely, failure of a man who was too afraid to try anything but my useless experiments.

But The Constant changed me completely. After being forced into so many life-threatening situations and enduring countless hardships, I finally realized that there was nothing that this world could put me through that I haven't already experienced back there.

Don't get me started on how your Mother would've turned out if she wasn't there with me.

Albert:

She'd still be walking from city to city burning everything in her path... hehe...

Wilson:

Yes, son. Now she's staying here and only burning half of everything in her path.

Albert:

Can you tell me that story about that Nightmare Throne again, please?

Wilson:

Another time, Albert. Right now you need to go to sleep.

Albert:

Okay. Good night, father.

Wilson:

Good night. Your mother and I will have a talk with that Sticker lady in the norning.
