Top 5 Movies and Characters || Challenge Entry

Hello, Hello fellow Princesses, Princes, and Heroic pals to another blog by yours truly. I am back to curse you with another blog from me tehe but I hope to make it enjoyable for you people because it’s a bit of a long one. So I was inspired not only by challenge entry. It also was about time I settle on a definitive five for both Disney movies and characters because believe it or not I didn’t have a set top 5 list. But now you get to see one from me where it’s not a combined paragraph of simple listings, so what joy for you. So without further ado let’s get on with the post shall we.

The Amazing Spider-Man

A recent favorite of mine that has captured my obsessions and head space is the Amazjng Spider-Man. God I love this movie and it is in fact the only marvel movie of the few I’ve seen that I rewatch. I mean Andrew Garfield is Peter Parker aka Spider-Man, I rest my case. No but seriously I could make a whole blog (I won’t but) of how much I LOVE this man, and how feral he makes me. Like omg what does one do to be Emma stone in that movie like please I’m desperate. Sorry that’s not the point nor is it the sole reason I adore this movie. It’s such a good movie, I love the comedy used, I love the way the characters are, I just loved how they depict and for tell the tragedy that is Peter Parker’s life. I adore the casting of this movie again Andrew was a perfect cast, he captures both Spider-Man’s bravery and loyalty to saving and Peter’s Awkward yet lovable nature. This is easily a comfort movie to me and I watch it like every month.

Toy Story 2

I’m sure you all know that I constantly say in my posts how near and dear the Toy Story movies are to me. Like they shaped my childhood in a way no other movie did. And I know you might be shaking your head at me picking a sequel rather than the original. But let me tell you, this movie is an exemption to this, it is the perfect sequel to the beloved movie that started it all. Little me was obsessed with this movie and still is. The new characters are dynamic and immediately these characters capture our hearts and become apart of the classic characters we treasure. The sound track is Devine, it is gorgeous, it works so perfectly for the movie. It combined the right balance of humor and peril, truly making it an action packed movie and brings us back to that peril to the first movie. This movie is such a gateway to my childhood and every time I watch it, it helps me feel like a kid again which I desperately need.

Luca

A newer movie but when I tell you this movie is one of Pixar’s best, it is and I will not accept anything arguing against it. While not always a lover of a slice of life movie, this movie captured my heart immediately with its relatable and introspective characters. The storyline immediately became one of my favorites as I do love a good underdog story. The animation oh my god it’s perfection and it makes me even more jealous that I’m not a 9 year old kid living in an Italian city by the water. The ending is lethal, I was a sobbing mess in my room watching it and you guessed it I loved every minute of it. It’s one of those endings that not only leaves you wondering more about their world and story but one that seems to be perfect for the movie itself. This is such a feel good movie and easily takes me out of any depressive slump I’m in. It is one Pixar’s most perfect movies (along with Toy Story and Onward in my opinion) and one of my all time comfort movies.

Mulan

Y’all know Mulan was going to be on this list, if you thought not then you my friend do not know me. I :clap: love :clap: this :clap: movie :clap: this movie is my Roman Empire, it is peak Disney. I mean I’ll say what we’re all thinking, this has got to be the Disney movie with the best soundtrack, my brain chemistry was altered when I first heard I’ll make a Man out of you. The characters are timeless, our brave heroine transcends the meaning of being brave and having to sacrifice. The peril of being discovered would have killed her yet despite knowing that she went to fight so she didn’t have to fear her father’s life. The sidekicks are some of Disney’s finest work, the comedy is gold and still is every time I rewatch it. I adore this movie, the portrayal of the characters and the atmosphere was so memorable. Surprise surprise this is another comfort movie of mine, truly a staple of my childhood and a movie I’ll never forget.

Princess and the Frog

And the crowd is…not at all surprised because I literally cannot stop yapping at how much I love this movie. This is a movie that means the world to me, I have never felt so deeply connected to a movie like I am with Princess and the Frog. The moment I hear that intro I’m on the floor, crisscrossed, and a blanket wrapped around me. It is such a sentimental movie for me, I can all the times I watched it at my aunts house with my cousin and us laughing our butts off. As a girl with Cajun roots, to see the state I take pride in represented with such beauty and honesty, it truly brings a tear to my eye. It captures everything Louisiana is and everything about Louisiana that makes me so proud to have family from. The movie is perfect, and the characters are revolutionary, I am so proud for this movie depicting our first Black American princess and doing it in a way that is respectful to a group of people who have been long excluded and second guessed. This movie will always be my favorite Disney movie ever and this movie has single handily changed my life. There will never be a Disney movie like it, I am certain.

Kronk

People be sleeping on the masterpiece that is Emperors New Groove. And I also believe in Kronk supremacy because I love this man so much, I typically will not easily die for any man, Kronk is the exception. Easily one of my top 5 characters of all time for Disney, Kronk is such a perfect character. Easily one of the funniest characters in the Emperors New Groove, Kronk set the standards for himbos everywhere and I salute him for it. Kronk has the best one liners of a character I have ever watched, Kuzco’s poison bit lives rent free in my head and always will. Loveable and dumb, Kronk is a comfort character and a true treasure.

Mirabel Madrigal

Next up in Mirabel who damn I relate to so much. She is one of Disney’s best written female leads and I will die on that hill. She’s a complex character that in one way or another we can find a way to relate to. From the moment she’s on your screen you cannot help but fall in love with her and empathize with the complexes she deals with internally. Not only is she very relatable but shes such a loveable character with her unique look and quirky personality. I treasure her existence as a character, never have I ever seen myself in its truest form like I do in Mirabel.

Eda Clawthrone

The way I want to be related to her, like I have a free aunt space you can take Eda. Sorry that was kind of dark but I adore this badass woman of this amazing show. With her no bs tolerance and questionable adulting skills to children, Eda has found a way into all the Owl house show viewers hearts. And rightfully so, she’s one of the coolest characters to ever come out of Disney both design and personality. She gives Grunkle Stan energy and we love her for it. She’s such an empowering character with her transformations into a harpy a symbolism for chronic illness, she’s an inspirational character that is the pillar of strength, perseverance, and overall coolness.

Silvermist

Silvermist supremacy is what I believe in and will till the day I die. I love her sm, if comfort character was a person or had a representative this is my representative of choice. From a young age, watching all the tinker bell movies, I connected immediately to her. Easily she became my favorite of the six and rightfully so, she’s so angelic and bubbly (pun was intended your honor). Look I just watched her do magic with water and thought that was the coolest thing a character could ever do. She’s my girl and I love her, I don’t know what else you want me to say that isn’t already obvious.

Merida

The character that not only made me realize how cool someone looks doing archery but also made me realize that archery is hard as hell when I tried. I love head strong females, I love independent heroines who know exactly what they want for themselves and fight for it no matter what. Merida is easily one of my favorite characters of all time, for her independence and knowledge in who she is and what she wants her life to be. Also I Stan the aroace Merida theory, it has got to be true and whether it’s intentional or not it’s some of the best representation in media. I also just love Scotland so much, been there and loved every minute of it and wanted to live my fantasy of living in the Scottish country side. So it seems even more fair Merida is my favorite character.
