So yeah. Match is my own personal original charecther I created during season 1 because I really felt bad seeing how Scratch was looked down and treated crummy by nearly every ghost. But what if that wasn't always the case? Granted I'm aware he has Molly but this was when he was still adjusting to having people in his afterlife. Plus i like the idea of him having a crush. In case your wondering if I do have plans to continue this concept, the answer is yes if this one shot is received well. Consider this a test drive! Takes place after Not So Honest Abe!)

(After another rough day in The Ghost World, Scratch feels quite literally down in the dumps. Does nobody aside from Geoff care about him? Little does he know when a certain pink ghoul enters the scene he'll become absolutely smitten.)

The Ghost World can tend to be a pretty cruel place sometimes. At least in one blue ghosts opinion, Scratch preferred to stay in Brighton and rarely ever left unless his bosses wanted to bug him about something stupid. Only exception to that rule was Geoff and he only befriended him begrudgingly. But then his quiet solitude was interrupted again once Molly Mcgee moved in. Sure the kid wasn't that bad but sometimes he wanted a break from all the hubbaloo. Hence began his mission to attend The annual Hauntly Haunts Club party. Every ghost was invited this time regardless of status and Scratch couldn't wait to go. At least, so he thought. The periwinkle spector made his way through only to stopped by the bouncer.

"Nuh uh no you don't!"

"What? Come on man I'm sorry about the Chicago pizza incident! I promise after that I wasn't going to sneak in again. And you know I rarely promise anything. Help a ghoul out will ya?!" Scratch groans in frustration.

This wasn't fair. If Geoff plus everyone else was allowed in why couldn't he attend to!</p>

"Oh I'l help you alright." The bouncer said smugly as Scratches yellow eyes lit up. Was this finally his time?!

"We even have a special place just for you."

"Yes! Figured you guys would regnoize my amazing scare work... wait why are we turning around? Clubs thata way dude! Wagh!"

The bouncer grabbed Scratch by his neck and instead of merely flinging him per usual he was tossed rather roughly into a litteral garbage can as the other ghosts including his bosses all laughed at him.

"Stay in the trash. That's where you belong."

The bouncer shut the door as Scratch solemnly heard the music play and his kind all laughing and having a good time. His eyes started to water as he bit his lip. The smell of trash he didn't mind so much but once again he had failed. Was this how things were meant to be? Not granted a single chance to party? What had he done wrong! It wasn't fair they treated him so badly. Maybe he should just stay in the can, until he realized he may have gotten his head a little far down the bottom and everything inside spilled on him. Normally Scratch would just lick all the trash off but for some reason he just didn't feel hungry. Untill he heard something.

"Hey are you ok?"

It sounded so bubbly and warm, almost like a certain human he knew. But the blue ghost turned away due to his stubborness.

"Yeah...go- go away. He said trying not to cry. It's fine I love garbage. Leave me be!"

This ghost however remained silent staring at him.

"That look like it hurt didn't it?"

Scratch rubbed his pupils only to see the most beautiful pink ghost he had ever seen staring right back at him. She was a magenta hue, covered in stickers, about half a inch smaller, slightly pudgy body and was wearing a blue daisy flower crown on top her head. Were those wings? The blue grumpy ghost was at a lost for words as he felt like physically melting into a puddle at such a sight of this wonderful creature suddenly no longer wanting to push her away. She picked off a piece of paper on his head and looked at him lovingly.

"They shouldn't have did that to you. It wasn't nice or fair."

Scratch nodded solemnly a few tears falling from his face in defeat.

I... I don't know why they hate me so much. Maybe it's true. Maybe I am a bad ghost . Or the worst of the worst. I just want to go into Hauntly Haunts.

"Don't say that about yourself. I'm not allowed in either." The pink ghost said hoping to making him feel better as Scratch tried to recover his pride.

"Really? How come? Huh... now that I'm getting another good look at you. I've never seen you around here before."

"I... kinda live in the offskirts of the ghost dimension. So yeah I don't stop by super often. But thats a long story.I know you often attempt to though. Don't worry about H.H. it's not as cool as you think."

Scratch however seriously doubted this girl meant that but regardless introductions were needed.

"Thanks for... helping out of there. What's your name?"

The pink ghost eyes light up with pinkish yellow hearts as her lashes flutter and she giggles enthusiastically shaking his hand.

"I'm Match."

Scratch. He responded almost caught off guard and suddenly he felt rather embarrassed.

"So your..actually acknowledging me!"

Match merely giggled again.

"Not use to attention hmm?"

"Oh no I love it. Just... not many girls. I mean i!

Say you want to... maybe go get some coffee? I know this really great spot!"

"Sure! I prefer Milkshakes but if that's what you want."

"Why not both? Scratch said smugly. The night is still young. Let me treat you princess." He attempts to show his classic swauve finger guns all proud like.

"Princess?! Oh ho you charmer!"Match said flattered by the formers confidence.

"Plenty more where that came from. What flavors do you like?"

"My favorites strawberry!"

"Hey me to! You got good tastes. I respect that!"

The day may not have the best start, but things seemed to be taking a pretty sweet turn for Scratch afterall!
