Amongst the standard abilities of an Angel, Raphael is capable of summoning a Caduceus Staff, which is used to channel healing energy. This healing power can heal wounds beyond what modern medicine is capable of, from completely regenerating lost limbs to repairing fatal wounds.

Raphael is one of the 7 Greater Archangels of the Hierarchy of Heaven and is tasked with the job of healing the wounded. For millions of years he has served in Heaven and has encountered very few wounds he couldn't heal.

During the war against the demons, he was assigned to be the medic to the archangels during their fights against demons. But to his surprise, demons were more capable of lethal wounds than he thought, and as a result he watched many of his fellow angels die and there was little he could do about it.

Because of this war he's grown a hatred towards the demon race, and they they are some of the few things he'd actually use harmful force against.
