Ignore the two bars of activity, those mean nothing when students cannot learn the languages they want! Teachers, we have been inactive for too long, and our vacation is over.

Not all teachers have been inactive, which is phenomenal! Sadly, I have been inactive myself, and this has affected much. So, back to posting! I posted a Dothraki lesson, I'm planning on posting frequent Dothraki and then moving on to other languages. Anyway, here's the main topic.

Scheduling Lessons

There are two ways of teaching, one is by blogs, quizzes, links that can be seen on the home page. The other is by public chats, only visible when ing the chats. So, teachers can have a public chat or a private one. It's up to you if you use it. Are active in the chats? Do they understand better with chats, videos and audio clips? Do they seem to care about your blogs more or your chat lessons more?

Not all teachers are dedicated, we did a poll some time ago and quite a few were just casual.

That doesn't help us, though. Casual could mean, "I post every two weeks" or "I post once a year".

So, teachers should post the frequency of their blogs. Make a wiki entry that states what language or languages you teach, how you teach (by blog or by chat, for instance), how frequently you teach and how fluent you are in the languages.

That way, new know that the Dothraki teacher won't post as often as the Istian teacher, or that the Latin teacher will post as often as the Greek teacher. So, new won't and be earnestly waiting for the Sumerian teacher to post, when they only post every 12 months.

Inactivity

Life is a thing, though if something is going to mess up your schedule, let the know.

It brings lots of issues if you're on vacation and you are inactive for 3 months, but didn't post it for everyone to see. It doesn't have to be a Shakespearean play, but it needs to be a few sentences long.

If you don't want to be a teacher anymore, just tell us. We'll find someone else, unless you taught a language you created.

That makes things more difficult, but we understand. Either way, ancient languages like Sumerian, Aramic, Heiroglyphs, are probably going to take longer. You have to translate the characters from their original text, roughly translate it to the modernized language(s) and also explain the literal translation before proof-reading even begins.

Dead, Rare, Fictional and Endangered

Since this is Dead Languages Amino, Chinese doesn't seem to fit, neither English, Spanish or Korean. This doesn't mean we dislike these languages, they're just too popular for their own good, but you can still use them.

We don't allow popular languages to be taught here, since no one has asked for them. To keep things in order, we won't allow the overpopulation loop hole languages to be taught here, UNLESS, want some popular languages.
