Learn Sanskrit to better understand Hindi, learn Biblical Hebrew to better understand Modern Hebrew, learn Ancient Norsk to better understand Norwegian and so on!

That is true! Some languages are fully dead, little to no resources are left of them. This could be by enemy takeovers, cultural purges, discrimination and even mass genocides--just to name a few possible reasons.
