:white_flower: Dauntless- What are Cells? :white_flower:

If you are a beginner or intermediate player in of time investment- you may be wondering; how do I make a build and how do the perks work in Dauntless?

This website can help greatly in putting a build together with all available pieces. This guide by Ohdough has some cells that have been changed but is a good watch if you’d rather watch a video.

There are five categories of Cells- Power, which is represented by a fist symbol, Defense which is represented by a shield symbol, Technique which is represented by a crosshair symbol, Mobility which is represented by a feather symbol and Utility which is represented by a lantern symbol.

I will use one of my own builds as a point of reference for how I will break down the two ways in which perks are built:

Innate Perks

These are the perks that come with an armor set- and they are not always useful for every weapon or every playstyle or against every behemoth.

Cells

These are the perks you have chosen to slot in to the corresponding cell slot.

Infernos Fangs- Hellion weapons come with the innate perk Overpower. At the max level of 6 this increases damage by 60% vs a staggered, interrupted or recently partbroken behemoth.

All hellion weapons also come with two power cell slots. As you can see, I have put in an overpower cell and an aetherhunter cell. This overpower cell will allow me to build +6 overpower from one weapon and the cells it comes with. Building a +6 perk from one piece of your build is considered efficient.

Exotics do not come with an innate perk- instead they have powerful unique effects. Skullforge has a defense cell slot in which I have equipped an Iceborne cell. At max level this perk gives 8% lifesteal which cannot heal past 50% health and 30% damage reduction when at or below 50% health.

Gnasher chest comes with the innate perk Tough. At max level this perk gives +500 health and increases healing from all sources by 50%. This piece comes with a defense cell slot- in which I have slotted in another Iceborne cell.

Gnasher gloves come with the innate perk Ragehunter. At max level this perk gives 40% more damage vs enraged behemoths. This piece comes with a power slot- in which I have slotted in a Ragehunter cell. This is one of the best pieces in the game for building level 6 Ragehunter from one piece of armor.

Gnasher boots come with the innate perk Tough, which stacks with our chest that also had Tough innately, giving us +6 Tough without having to use any cell slots. The boots have a power cell slot which I have chosen to slot in another Aetherhunter cell which brings Aetherhunter to +6

Summary
