Her first name comes from the English variant derived from the French Béatrice, which came from the Latin Beatrix, which means "blessed one." Her last name comes from her French ancestors who traveled to America during the Louisiana Purchase in 1803. The family name translates from the French word for blossom.

Bee loves the great outdoors to an extent. She gets sunburned easily if she is outside for extended periods. She doesn't like getting dirty too much, either. The feeling of dirt and dry leaves against her skin makes her cringe. She mostly enjoys the beauty of nature and the plants that flourish around her so much so that she can't identify almost every plant. She even has some favorite flowers: Magnolias, carnations, pink hydrangeas, hibiscus, (garden/arusha) roses, dahlias, lotus flowers, peonies, cherry blossoms, tulips, and pink plumerias! And, of course, she loves receiving bouquets as a gift! Orchids, tulips, chrysanthemums, asters, forget-me-nots, sweat peas, marigolds, lilies, or any possible ensemble! (Even a single flower is enough to make her heart smile!)

As the Ultimate Botanist, she loves to study plants along with their intricate designs, medicinal properties, nutritional benefits, types of bugs that pollinate them, climates in which they can thrive, and even dangerous ones like poison ivy, deadly nightshade, and the lily of the valley to name a few. (Some may look pretty, but looks can be deceiving.) She has taken a floral design class all throughout middle school that has greatly improved her knowledge of types of flowers, how to display them in different styles, how to care for and nurture them, and the overall history of floral arrangements. Speaking of pollinators, honeybees, bumblebees, and carpenter bees are her favorite insects! Unfortunately, she can go into anaphylactic shock if she gets stung by one, so she carries an EpiPen in her handbag in case she does get stung. Despite that, she still loves her favorite hive insects! She respects bugs and their roles within different ecosystems and feels bad if she accidentally steps on one. However, she is embarrassed that she is frightened by big spiders. Thus fear is not triggered whenever she sees one on a screen, a page of a book, or even in front of her; specifically, it's when it comes to holding spiders or them crawling on her skin. Other than that, she loves learning about bugs and all types of little critters!

She may not look the part, but she has quite the brain to compensate for her knowledge of plant life! Unfortunately, Bea had a neglectful family growing up. Her mother and father didn't pay much attention to her as a child, leading her to become accident-prone and clumsy. She luckily had descriptive encyclopedias of plants with many pictures to occupy her curious mind. Reading content with an extensive vocabulary, her speech patterns followed suit. She loved sharing knowledge about subjects she's ionate about!

She loves all types of colors, but she prefers pink! Since she loves plant life so much, mainly flowers, it's only natural that she would be drawn to flower-oriented clothing! Also, she loves dressing femininely, so I thought some comfortable and flowy skirts and tops with intricate flower designs on the fabric would fit her perfectly! (Plus, she is nearsighted and has to wear glasses. They have a pink plastic frame with small rhinestones along the temples.) She'll often dress in comfy clothes she can move around in for convenience, but it boils down to the type of fabric she and her skin can tolerate. When the texture of clothes becomes a problem, she'll never be able to fully focus on anything. Itchy laces and cotton shirts are what she avoids wearing the most!

She is most sensitive to sound since she is autistic with an auditory processing disorder and selective hearing. If she is met with any loud noises that she can't control or anticipate, like the volume of music, she instinctively recoils and covers her ears to muffle the sound. (She loves pop and electronic music and expresses her interest through dance, like how bees communicate through movement.) Another trait derived from her autism is code-switching. Her personality can change to please whoever is with her, including her sense of humor! She loves classic dad jokes, puns, wordplay, and even dark humor when it's appropriate.

Bea has quite the sweet tooth! Her favorite foods are fruits (mostly pineapple, black cherries, and strawberries), although she prefers them over vegetables and legumes. She can never say "no" to fruit salad and smoothies! Strawberry shortcake and pineapple soft-serve ice cream are her top two favorite desserts. Back in her late middle school and early high school years, she has taken multiple culinary arts classes and loves the ideas for vegetarian dishes she can come up with! She is a slightly picky eater because she can't handle too many textures of different foods at the same time. A main reason why salad (not fruit salad) is her least favorite dish. Vegetables with high water content, all mixed together with a coating of sour dressing, don't sit right with her. She also tries to steer clear of any flavors she doesn't like. One of these is honey, which is silly because she can’t seem to have a fondness for it as much as the insects that produce it. She won't eat it straight, but a little bit added to some herbal tea is just right for her! A couple of her favorite teas include infusions from the butterfly pea (clitoria ternatea) and hibiscus flowers (hibiscus rosa-sinensis). One of her favorite ways to spend time with her friends is hosting picnics and tea parties outdoors where the guests can partake in homemade sweets and take in the fresh air tinged with the scent of the thriving flora around. (Her favorite snacks to prepare for said gatherings include vanilla bean scones, macarons, chocolate-glazed strawberries, croissants, strawberry cream puffs, and anything the guests request her to bring.)

She can be pretty ionate if someone ticks her off, just like how bees are docile creatures and only sting if they feel threatened. When she is provoked by individuals she deems extremely annoying, she can get defensive. However, she is not much of a fighter, and her pain tolerance is pretty low. She is sensitive physically because of her petite frame and low muscle mass. Being shorter than her friends, they constantly joke about how small she is compared to them calling her a "harmless little bee." In fact, she embraces the label, so she just laughs along with them. If she were to try and throw a punch, she would likely hurt her knuckles more than her target. She has been frequently teased in public school for trying to defend herself and attempting to hit back when she got in a fight. Now, she knows better and refrains from resorting to physical violence. It's best not to get on her bad side. Mess with a bee, ya get stung.

With bees as her favorite insect, she doesn't like them only because they rhyme with her name. It's also due to them being loyal to their queen and working hard to keep their hive functional! She values hard work to get things done! When she's doing chores, cleaning, or any sort of task to help others, her friends back where she lived gave her the nickname "busy bee." When she's alone and not worried about anyone ruining her work, organizing laundry, tidying up rooms, cleaning dishes, and doing regular housework makes her feel at ease knowing that she is in control of keeping an area spotless!

Bea is pretty shy and tends to keep to herself. She can get overwhelmed if too many people are in the same room, with her being the center of attention. If she happens to have a crush on someone, she often keeps her thoughts to herself. She frequently got made fun of for liking a boy way back in middle school, and her secret got out to the whole class. That's how she learned never to trust anyone with her secrets unless they are undoubtedly trustworthy!
