what makes a good OC?

As someone who’s made a ton of characters, I can give some tips! :)

- Try to not overcomplicate your character, stuff like too many backstory traits or personality traits makes the character usually come off as really edgy which is annoying to many people. The main concept of your character should be able to be explained with only a sentence. For example, Byakuya could be easily described as “a rich, apathetic, and intelligent antagonistic character”, of course it doesn’t touch on everything but it gives a good idea.

- Try to have everything to do with your character somehow tie into their personality or backstory. Their design, at least for danganronpa, will reflect their talent, even for characters like Akane her design goes well with her personality.

- Some other things to avoid is constantly making your character the center of attention (grows repetitive overtime), giving your character a mental illness/disability/etc that you have not properly researched, and not giving them proper motivations that explain their actions
