We’ve all heard of them. Maybe it’s because of fear, from the stories and what they’ve done, because you fight against them or... maybe, just maybe, it’s because you are part of…. Ah, wait a second, didn't we already hear this before?

Hello, everyone, and welcome to my game for the 4th DanganverSARY! No, I'm not sorry. This year, I am repeating the game I did last year but very much revised and improved. I seriously would like to thank everyone who helped me in making the game be more balanced and fun - special thanks to Incident Report, Cronssi, Pre, Kane, Insx, Pecky, Elaine, Johann, Shui, CotS, Kirumi and Izzy! (Will add links in a bit, I have programming homework to do)

Outside the improvement of the roles themselves, this version of Mafia will have a major overhaul in comparison to the previous version. During the last games, a tournament system was implemented. This time, we'll be doing something a bit more fair- you will be gathering points!

You can then exchange the points for prizes. Officially provided prizes will be limited (ODEAC or titles). More details will be provided below.

I'll first explain the game before, however.

Game Play

Before the game starts, everyone will receive a role. The role determines what your gaming strategy should be. All roles are part of one of three teams - Hope, Despair and Neutral. If you are Hope, you will want to find and kill everyone who has the role Ultimate Despair (not everyone from team Despair). If you are a Despair, you will want to kill everyone who isn't on your team - aka Team Hope and Team Neutral. If your role is a Team Neutral one, then the winning condition is role-specific.

The game is divided into two periods - night and day. During the night, any roles with night actions will act. During the day, everyone will discuss who should be nominated off. A night will continue for either 24 hours or until everyone has finished their actions. Failure to complete an action leads to the role being randomised. A day will continue for either 3*24 hours or until someone is nominated. From the point of nomination, players have 24 hours to either nominate someone else or vote to start voting.

Players can also vote to skip nomination and continue directly towards the night. For such a vote to , at least half of the players, rounded up, must agree. Ex. if there are 17 players alive, then 9 players will need to vote towards skipping voting.

After 2 or more people have been nominated, a voting process begins. Voting is done privately in PMs (unlike nominations, which must be public). Voting continues for either 24 hours or until it is impossible for the voting to be overturned.

If a is completely inactive for 2 in-game days and nights, they will be removed for inactivity and will not receive any points.

Roles

Before a game starts, I will create a private PM with everyone! If we already have a PM, we'll use that PM. You will receive your role there. Depending on your role, you may or may not be added to a group chat.

After everyone has received a role /*and has been invited to the group chat, if you have one*\, the game will start. During the day, group chats will be closed off - talking and planning in a group chat will be forbidden. During the night, talking in the main chat will be forbidden.

You can, however, use various different codes in the main chat, though they will require approval.

Secret Agent cannot reveal they are Secret Agent in the main chat but can in private chats.

Pushing someone to reveal their role is forbidden, though you can suggest it. You can ask for night actions, however. Everyone reserves the right to lie~

Rules

1. Be respectful towards other participants! At the end of the day, this is just supposed to be a game - we're all here to have fun!

2. Don't reveal your role outside of official chats. Cheating ruins the fun for everyone and will not be tolerated.

3. Stay civil during discussions! If you have to, it's better to take a break during discussions than get heated. Everyone is free to ask for a time out during discussions - the chat will be locked until everyone has calmed down.

4. No insults, crude language, triggering words or 18+ content.

5. Follow any other DRA guidelines not explicitly mentioned here.

When accepted, you will be added to three chats - the OOC chat, the game chat and the announcements chat. Anyone who has previously played needs to apply again (though obviously they don't need to be reinvited if they are in the chats).

Points

There are two types of points you can get - main and achievement. The main points assure that, as long as you aren't removed due to inactivity, you will receive at least 10 points per game. Achievement points are added on top of the gained main points based on what happens during the game.

Main Points

If removed due to inactivity: 0 points

If part of the losing team and inactive*: 10 points

If part of the losing team and active: 30 points

If part of the winning team and inactive*: 30 points

If part of the winning team and active: 50 points

*Inactive here refers to being active enough to do your night actions and periodically engage in discussions, but not active enough to be a major player.

Some of the achievement points

Due to the nature of achievement points, I can add additional achievements at a later stage. That's why I'm only adding some of them, so people can have an idea of what they are. The points they give are hidden until at least 1 person achieves an achievement. You can only claim the points of max two achievements per game.

Dying first - ??? points

Being part of the last survivors -??? point

Maintaining a winning streak of x wins - ??? points //The amount is predetermined

Maintaining a losing streak of x loses -??? Points //The amount is predetermined

Not failing your forbidden action* - ??? points

Being an active member for 5 months** - 50 points***

*At the start of the game, everyone will be given a forbidden action. Though previously, failing a forbidden action meant you die, this time you will only lose an achievement.

**Active means that you are still playing after 5 months and have at least one game where you've gotten points for being active in-game.

***The points are revealed here as some players have already reached this achievement! Long playing will receive this achievement as gratitude from myself, as long as they have been playing for at least 5 months.

Prizes

Finally, the prizes! For official prizes, you can acquire either 2 large prizes, 2 small and a large (with the last at a higher price) or 3 small prizes. For other prizes, there is no limit to the amount you can pick.

A complete edit set by ODEAC (1 pfp, 1 amino bg, 3 wiki covers, 3 dividers, 1 phone bg) - 500 points (large)

A custom title - 500 points (large)

A full-body art piece of an OC or CC - 500 points (large)

A small edit set (up to 4 edits by choice) by ODEAC - 250 points or 300 points for 5 edits (small)

A title with one of the roles you had - 250 points or 300 points with an emoji (small)

A head shot art piece of an OC or CC - 250 points or 300 points for a bust-up shot (small)

Unofficial Prizes

Players can also offer to provide unofficial prizes if they like! The points spent will go to the prize-maker with 10% tax.

A long-term fan fiction by Sary [max 5 chapters] - 300 points for the first two chapters, 100 for the next

A one-shot by Sary - 1 point is equal to 10 words in the fic (aka 200 points is a 2000 word one-shot)
