Information on WildWood Story: Beta and Alpha Testing

Hello Cattails Amino! I’m back this Wednesday to bring you new information. Specifically information regarding the Kickstarter, Alpha and Beta Testing. Stay until the end of this post, as there is a lot of VERY important information at the end.

By backing the Kickstarter, you are able to become an a tester for the closed Alpha or the Beta.

Incase anyone here is unaware, allow me to explain what Beta and Alpha means.

Beta and Alpha are used to describe phases of video game testing.

Alpha is the first testing phase. Because it is the first, it is also the most buggy. During the Alpha is where bugs will be found by testers and said bugs will be fixed by the developers. New features are often implemented.

The Beta is the phase where the game is mostly complete. Additional content and polish are added in this phase.

Now back to Wildwood Story

In backing the Kickstarter for Wildwood story, you are able to become a tester for either the Closed Alpha or the Beta. Early access keys will be given to backers via steam.

Closed Alpha Testing begins THIS SUMMER!!

The Beta will begin early 2023

The game is intended to be released to the public on Steam in the Fourth Quarter of 2023. That means from September to December.

It appears that testers of Wildwood Story who are NOT content creators (such as YouTubers) will need to sign a Nondisclosure Agreement. I am not a lawyer, so I will merely put some screenshots of the definition here:

Content Creators (YouTubers, etc.) do not need to sign the NDA. They can make posts about Cattails Wildwood story during it’s Testing Phase. Expect to see Let’s Plays of Wildwood Story being ed to YouTube. THIS ONLY APPLIES TO CONTENT CREATORS. PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT CONTENT CREATORS WILL PROBABLY NEED TO SIGN THE NDA TO BECOME A TESTER.

If you want to back the Kickstarter but don’t want to become an Alpha/Beta Tester, you can opt out of becoming a Tester.
