A REOTD Mini: Happy 80th to The Railway Series and Thomas

Hello Everyone, Isaiah the Classic Historian here and Welcome to A Random Edit of The Day Mini.

Today on May 12, over 80 years ago, The Railway Series would make its debut with The Three Railway Engines. Written by railway enthusiast the Rev. W. Awdry, it was start of one of the most beloved franchises that would, 39 years later, bring one of the most popular TV shows with Thomas and Friends.

If it wasn’t for either Thomas and Friends or The Railway Series, I wouldn’t be into trains, real, toy, or model, this much both back then and nowadays. Much with TM’s I Love Toy Trains, Tom and Jerry and even later with Singin in the Rain (1952), Thomas has pretty much changed my life as a kid and has been apart of it ever since.

I would go more into my memories with the franchise and how the other parts would connect with one another but I’ll go more into it with an Cartoon Revue to celebrate its 9th Anniversary.

Here are a pair of panoramic edits to celebrate this special occasion, one of which is a vintage variant.

Funny enough, this background was made when I was doing the 40th Anniversary edit for the TV show.

And ittedly there’s a lot of ideas that I want to do for this edit in particular. Especially considering this is the franchise’s 80th Anniversary. So I thought why not go for the max and feature different elements of the franchise history from the Books to the original tv show to other elements such as All Engines Go and the original 1983 test pilot that was released a few days ago.

While it isn’t as comprehensive in comparison to The Super Mario Panoramic Edit, I did enjoy making this one. As such it’s not often that I do Thomas related or heck any Train related edits that isn’t the main focus.
