There are souls who smile and say, “It’s okay,” even though they have unspeakable pain in their hearts. Whenever they try to tell the truth, they are met with criticism and are dismissed with words like, “Just get over it,” or “Get over it.”
:point_right: Their attempts to open up were met with silence, and their vulnerability was treated as discomfort. When they were struggling in front of others, instead of seeking comfort, they felt guilty and had to appease the discomfort of those around them.
So now they hide their feelings behind a smile and convince themselves that it is not worth fighting for. I have learned to care for the needs of others even at the expense of my own happiness.
:point_right: They don't ask for space, they don't raise their voices for what they need. They have learned to shrink, believing that love and attention are for others and not for themselves. But I want them to know that this is not true. I want them to realize that they deserve to be valued, respected, heard, have a place, and be themselves without hesitation.
