Hey ARMY! I’m Kris, a long-time BTS army and someone who’s been walking on this Bangtan journey since 2014. Over the years, each member has touched my heart in different ways—but there’s one person whose energy, strength, and sincerity have lit up my world like no other: Jung Hoseok, aka j-hope.

Who is Hobi?

Jung Hoseok isn’t just BTS’s main dancer, sub-rapper, and sunshine—he’s an artist who embodies joy, discipline, and heart. With his contagious laughter and golden heart, he brings brightness to everything he touches, both on and off stage. But Hobi is also deeper than what meets the eye—he’s a ionate artist who constantly works to improve, create, and inspire.

Why He’s Connected to Me

To me, Hobi represents hope in the truest form. There were moments in life when I felt lost or unmotivated, and just watching a video of him dancing, laughing, or speaking from the heart brought me back to myself. His balance of positivity and vulnerability helped me embrace both light and shadow within me. He reminded me it’s okay to shine and struggle at the same time.

His Struggle – The Story Behind the Smile

While j-hope might seem like the eternal optimist, his path wasn't easy. From facing doubts about his rap skills early on to dealing with the immense pressure of perfection as BTS's dance leader, he worked tirelessly behind the scenes. In one interview, he even confessed that he once considered leaving BTS during their trainee days. But he didn’t give up—he stayed, grew, and became an irreplaceable part of BTS's core. That resilience is what makes his smile even more meaningful.

The Beginning of j-hope’s Solo Voice – ‘1 VERSE’

Before the world saw the dark, intense side of j-hope in Jack in the Box, he gave us a glimpse of his solo power way back in 2015 with “1 VERSE.” Released on SoundCloud, this track wasn’t just music—it was j-hope's unfiltered voice. It broke free from his usual cheerful image and showed a confident, razor-sharp rapper with something to prove. “1 VERSE” was fierce, punchy, and full of fire. It was Hobi declaring, “I’m not just the happy one—I’m an artist with edge, drive, and purpose.” For many of us, it was the moment we saw just how deep and multi-layered Jung Hoseok really is. It was raw. It was bold. And it was just the beginning.
