I am going to be writing each teaser on the day it is revealed. Some info on one reveal may clash with another, but I wanted to give my live reaction on it.
Teaser 1
So earlier today a new Crossover event was announced, and this is probably the most conflicted and confused the community has been.
We get a clip of what reminds me of an old video game. We see Bödvar talking and the caption “There’s more than one way to ride off into the sunset!”. However, during this dialogue the screen glitches, and at the end of the clip we see Norse symbols.
People have been quick the translate it and realise that it spells out “The Rule”.
The community tends to look at one part of the teaser and make that their entire reasoning, and people have come up with the pretty interesting opinions.
On one hand, there are people who believe this is a God of War or an Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla crossover because of the Norse symbols.
Some say it’s Gravity Falls because of the riding off into the sunset.
Then there are people saying it’s Five Nights at Freddy’s because of the glitches.
However, one theory stood out the most to me. The quote “There’s more than one way to ride off into the sunset” comes directly from a G.I Joe cartoon. That could be a coincidence, of course… but we shouldn’t take our eyes off it.
Teaser 2
Today we got another teaser. The clip has a very similar structure to yesterday’s teaser. Bödvar talking and dialogue. This time however, the dialogue reads “Use animal companions like Ti- I mean /Ash. Yeah, /Ash”. And there are no glitches and cryptic messages this time around.
Right we should get this out of the way first. Who is Ash? In the comment section of the tweet, people are saying that it’s a Pokémon crossover because it says “Ash”. Hate to burst your bubble, but it’s not Pokémon. Ash is the name of Ember’s wolf as seen in her Bow Ssig, and last time I checked, Ash from the Pokémon anime is a human so he wouldn’t be an animal companion.
But who was Bödvar about to name before saying Ash? We get the first 2 letters of the name, being ‘Ti’.
Thankfully, I didn’t need to do much research because people did the hard work for me. The full name of the animal companion is ‘Timber’, so is the character Snake Eyes’s wolf. Snake Eyes if you didn’t know comes from… G.I Joe.
Not many people took note of this. In the video, Ash’s name has a forward slash next to it. It turns out it was a link. If you go to Brawlhalla.com/ash, the same video shows up, but this time around there are glitches and Norse code. This time, the letters spell out “WILL” and “WORLD”.
With all the words we have, we can spe”” out the sentence “will rule the world”.
I’m just saying. If tomorrow’s word is “Cobra”, a G.I Joe crossover is undeniable.
Teaser 3
And I was right.
Today’s teaser once again gave us Bödvar and dialogue. This time around the dialogue read “Don't trust / :droplet: ☠ :v: :neutral_face: ☜ :droplet: ! That's just :droplet: ☠☜ :v: :neutral_face: spelled... sideways.” Also the glitch has returned.
Soo… now we have a set of wingdings. Luckily, somebody was able to translate the wingdings and we get the words “snakes” and “sneak”.
Ok before I go further, a LOT of people have been saying it’s an Undertale crossover. Hate to break it to you, it’s not Undertale. People have taken all of the evidence from previous teasers and threw them out the window and all they see are these wingdings.
If you aren’t aware of Undertale, I’m the same. But there is an Easter egg of a character named ‘Gaster’ who speaks in these wingdings. And that’s the only piece of evidence people have to say that it’s Undertale. Hate to break it to you again… but wingdings didn’t originate from Undertale. They’ve been a BH long before it. Soo… maybe next time?
We also have another link. If you go to brawlhalla.com/snakes, you see more Norse symbols. These symbols translate into the word “COBRA”.
We now have a complete sentence. “COBRA WILL RULE THE WORLD”.
Cobra is the name of the terrorist organisation in… G.I Joe.
Final Thoughts
Ladies and gentlemen, we are getting a motherfucking G.I Joe crossover event!
So… this is a franchise I wasn’t familiar with. At all. However during the past few days I’ve learned a bit about the franchise.
I’m not sure how many skins we’re going to get, but I’m going to guess here and say 4. Seems like a reasonable amount.
I think the characters we’ll see are Duke, who is the main protagonist, Scarlett, Snake Eyes and Cobra Commander, the main antagonist.
