I'm always awake when when everyone else is asleep

Somewhere on the other side of the earth

At this very second

I don't want to sleep

I don't get tired when I'm supposed to

I'm there when the lights are on

And when the lights are off

I watch the sun come up every day

And say goodbye to the moon every night

Watch the stars fade away

And see the world light up

The stars and moon have always been there for me

That's the thing that will always be there

Wherever I go, all I have to do to see them is tilt my head up

It's that simple

They see the world change with me

I listen to the clock's simple melody 24/7

I don't count sheep,

I count tik's and tok's

Every one

Everyday, every night

My mom tells me that I shine the brightest when the stars come out

That's why I'm called Starshine

But I love that name

Because the night is always there

Nobody there to bother me

Nobody awake

See the dreams dance around the room

I love to watch the sky change

Orange and pink, dark blue, then black,

Watch every color, every hue

And see it repeat everyday

I'm at my best in the night

I don't have to be sad because the moon leaves

I know I'll see him tomorrow

And he's going to cheer up someone else on the other side

And he get to see his friends all the time

Just different places

He's the one who'll sit here forever with me

Sunrise is better than sunset

That doesn't make much sense if you think about it, really
