Knowledge is like melted butter. It spreads fast, too much can get you killed & sometimes it's fake.

The Weekly Question:
What is the strangest factoid you learned from a book?
We all learn interesting things from time to time when we delve into reading. Sometimes they come from run-of-the-mill textbooks, but other times they come from a fictional character's wisdom.
For example, I learned from a psych textbook that a horse's teeth takes up more space in its head than it's brain. They also can't vomit, I guess. Weird mutant creatures with too much leg, those horses.

Alternatively:
What is the strangest factoid you learned while doing research for a story you were working on?
Personally, I'd say the fact that drinking super cold water can kill a horse under certain circumstances. I was researching about snakes, but I guess that's something nifty to keep in mind.
Horses are cursed creatures.

Kind of gruesome, and not really weird, but I learned somewhere on the internet, probably on Tumblr, that if someone were to stab me, I'm supposed to leave whatever object that person stabbed me with instead of taking it out; leaving it in means staunching the blood. I mean, I don't know when that fact will ever prove useful, but it was good to know, I guess ?
This isn’t a strange factoid, but it was something I learned from Simon vs The Homosapien’s Agenda. Chick Fill A donated money to organizations that were anti-same-sex marriage
After learning that I ed Simon in no longer getting anything from Chick Fill A since I strongly LGBTQ+ rights and same-sex marriage
Yeah they suck. Luckily there's tons of recipes online where you can make the food & not them a cent. It's called the "Chik-fil Gay" recipe.
From Bodyguard Ambush, to escape from zip ties that are around your arms, you need to slam the space between your wrist against your chest/backside and pull your wrists apart
From David Wong's book Futuristic Violence and Fancy Suits, I learned a lot more than I wanted to know about the strange details of how hyena birth works
Yeah, and it's usually like two or three births per litter :p
