all this artwork is my own, please don’t save it.
World/Universe Building is an important aspect of any story. Especially fantasy and fiction genres.
You can make a World from scratch, developing their society, rules, beliefs, and everything in between.
And other pieces of work with a pre-established world you show a character’s role in the society.
World Building is incredibly fun either way and crucial to a story.
Some examples given with my artwork I have here.
Ive been Building a world for these guys for a long time. All in one universe and a complex society and background I’ve made for them. From how they live together to religious beliefs to interpersonal relationships.
Its been like 8 years and I’m still building.

This weeks question for Writers:
How does World Building play a role in your works?
Explain, is it your own society, preexisting? How do your characters fit into this world?
This weeks question for Readers:
What have you read that had really good World Building?
Was the World Building more focused and singular? (I.e. focused more on characters than the society around them, more focused on their role rather than seeing the full picture) Did you get a feeling you could live there because that’s how detailed it got?

One of the most recent cases of great world building I have read is American Gods by Neil Gaiman. The way he created this universe were all the gods are real is incredibly well done, it doesnt break his own rules and pays atention to detail.
Gaiman mixes all sorts of characters and mythologies and it all makes sense together. The book is full of smaller stories that help the reader learn about the world and understand it better.
Like, he pauses the main plot line to tell us about the life of an Irish woman living in American during the 18th century, so we can understand how all this gods came to America in the first place.
By the way, I like your art
Love your artwork! That first piece is especially lovely ^-^
Also great question. World building isn't my strong suit, but it's something I'd like to work on. So this is a great challenge ^-^
Thank you!
World building takes a lot-
That’s why it’s taken eight years to work with a story for those wolves in the images
I’m still working on it tbh
