Trigger warnings : mention of suicide notes.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
things you should never read.
1. the first essay they made you write in first grade- "Myself". you had such a clear idea of who you were. you were an amalgamation of music you didn't understand and colours you liked and hobbies you would lose on your way and TV shows that came on Sunday 8pm, that's what was you. never read that essay. you can't write a single line about yourself now. you often misspell your name. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. a suicide note. not Virginia's Woolf's , not Van Gogh's, not the guy at your school no one talks about anymore. never read a suicide note. it will screw you up. it will cut open your sky and hand you a pencil and make you practice writing yours, don't read a suicide note, never a suicide note.
3. the book someone left behind. there will be ghosts in the book. there will be a person hiding between the lines and there will be words underlined and they would make sentences up. sentences and names and people you've never known. there would be a flower pressed between pages. a name fading in the corner. a bloodstain on the last page. don't read a book someone leaves behind. don't.
4. the love letter you should have burnt long back. there's so much to say and so little time and he's left you behind, so you don't listen to hey there delilah anymore and that letter will kill you at night. there's so much to say and so little time and this isn't a movie where things end fine so never read that love letter, you'd be shoving away the pillow at midnight. don't read that love letter, it begins with a name your tongue doesn't permit.
5. warning signs. there's a great deal of caution that comes with disaster and when you stand at the epicentre, alone, the earthquake shaking your core, there's regret in a bottle, a cigarette, a pill, and that's how people break down. the last moment you swerve into the canyon is a moment of regret that lasted too long. don't read warning signs, don't die feeling sorry.
6. me.
if you can't read between the lines. Somehow. Some did.
