"it’s time i started living my own life.”

a brain grew greater when addicted to those walls watching paint chip away with the freedom of adolescence and the scarring smiles of innocence still tattooed along its cheeks.

a brain learned of hatred when it grew accustomed to the blasphemy and lies that sprouted from the once ripe seeds of cement trucks and orange jumpers.

a brain moved on from life when a new one entered its room taking a left and then a right and then imagining a true tranquility inside a circle serenaded by the swans, only loving what is perfect and only hating what is wrong.

a brain made the change that day in mindlessness it kept ahold of promises from pasts he’d left and stories that he’d never told and knew that now he’d find forever in 175 square feet and kiss goodbye the nevers that had once become his mantra then.

a brain realized quite quickly that perfection was a lie and the endless fields of joy and sorrow only depended on what side of the coin you existed on and where the pressure stacked to be the lowest, but belief would never waver because now and then he knew would have completely different flavors.

a brain exists now in a vacuum where his choices sit on his walls, and the days he once lived seemed like they had never been at all, but forgetting won’t be necessary because despite time in the dark, the brain knew the only true path towards the light was through the heart.

a brain looks toward the future as the sun rains from its brow and its hair feels like the curtains it had moved to the side to allow itself to shine and take steps forward until its shoes couldn’t discern left from right, and the one thing it could think was “it’s time i started living my own life.”
