1. You have 20,000 books in your TBR, how in the world do you decide what to read next?

Oh yes, I’ve definitely been there. That moment where you have so many books to read, but so little time to do so. What I usually do is a list of all the books I want to read, but I follow the order in which I bought them. That way, I have no problem later. Of course if I really want to read a book in specific, I might read that book first but then I would stick to the list.

2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?

It depends. For example, if it’s a regular book or the first book of a saga and I’m just not loving it, I may give it a chance and continue. But if it’s a sequel or has too many books I put it down after a while. Many people do it the other way around, but that is just how I work.

3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how?

Well, as I mentioned on my last blog, this is the first time I’m making reading goals, but if I’m being honest, I get sometimes down when I don’t reach my goals. I may try to continue and catch up, but after a while I might give up (NOTE: this is something I truly want to change).

4. The covers of a series you love do not match, how do you cope?

Oh, I feel that everyday. I know some fans love Percy Jackson covers (especially the ones of special editions), but geez I don’t. I’m sorry, but I really think they could be better and not make justice to the actual books. And how do I deal with it? I just do  . I mean, I keep telling people “I know, I hate the cover too but the book is worth it”.

5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?

Well, it has happened to me with the series of “The Selection”. It’s a series that many people love, but I read the first books and I didn’t like them as much as I thought. They were ok I guess. I get into trouble when I disagree with someone’s opinion on a book, specially with close friends, but that’s just the way it is.

And of course I don’t go around saying I hate the book, I respect and know people will differ with me.

6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal with it?

This has never happened to me. Actually, quite the opposite. So I was in school, in math class if I correctly, and I was reading Percy Jackson (the fourth book of The Olympics). Let it be noted I had finished the exercises the teacher asked for, so I was reading legally and responsibly. Now, a little spoiler: I got to Percabeth’s first kiss, and oh man, I couldn’t have felt happier! After so many books, and so much waiting, it finally happened. The teacher was explaining something on the board, and all my classmates were paying attention, and I just wanted to hide that I was about to explode out of happiness! I was just trying to hide it.

I feel like, if I were in the opposite situation, and I felt like crying, I would too try to hide it, and avoid other people’s attention. And if I could no more, I would run to the restroom to get myself together.

7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?

It depends. I think I would just be too lazy and don’t reread it. It would need to be a book I read a looooong time ago and that I absolutely loved with all my heart. If that’s not the case, then I would read a summary about the book online and maybe some reviews to better.

8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks?

I am truly not that kind of person. If someone asks me for a book, I would borrow it. And I have actually borrowed some books to others without them asking. One thing is for sure: I would kill anyone who messes with my books just kidding) (I think).

9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump?

This is something I recently struggled with. And I just had to get over it and start with a book I liked and continue. Also, I make a special time for reading so I don’t forget.

10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying?

If I had money, I would end up buying from 3 to 4 books maybe (and this is just if I go Wild). Believe it or not, I don’t buy a lot of books because I over think it. They need to be books that seem overly interesting so I buy them. Otherwise, I might just ask a friend to let me borrow it hehe.

Right now I’m not in the best financial situation, (sorry, I bought too many books and my mom got tired of my obsession :joy: ) so I have been reading in PDF and so I’m not expending too much.

11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?

Depends On how much time I take on reading the last one. Usually K read a book from 2 to 3 weeks, or even 4 (I know, I’m a slow reader, but it’s only because I don’t want to finish them so rapidly  ). So immediately after finishing the book, I get on with the next one.

I'm also a slow reader! I like to take my time and get the scenario into my head, as if it were on the big screen.

I don’t really care about the mismatched covers as well! By the way, congratulations on being our new curator!
