Well I guess I can probably get murdered for saying these stuff but gotta be brave right?

So here we go.....

The moment I saw the unpopular opinion challenge, the very first book to come to my mind was......

Well I guess I can probably get murdered for saying these stuff but gotta be brave right?

Twilight by Stephanie Meyer

When I was in the eighth grade all my friends were totally obsessed with this series of books,so I had to go through a lot of twilight lingo and references that went over my head when I tried talking to anyone,it was irritating needless to say. :grimacing:

In 10th grade after reading the mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare I kinda fell in love with Simon,or maybe the cool vampire he turned into, lol.

Also skeptical as I am,I can't deny that these book covers are freaking sexy, well as they say ,never judge a book by its damn cover....

So,I guess I wanted to see how the blood suckers were depicted in the most famous series of vampire novels, well I regret that decision and will do so all my life.I guess I am being dramatic, but yeah that's what it feels like :confounded:

Let's start with our marvellous and incredibly interesting protagonists Isabella Swan and Edward Cullen.

Ok so,people can kill me for it afterwards but I have to say this,

Bella is as dull as a doorknob.

(Not to insult a doorknob or anything coz I think if bought from an antique shop, even doorknobs can be interesting, but well, not Bella apparently)

The story starts with Bella moving to Forks to live with her dad Charlie to make her "mother happy" and her reaction to the place?"oh my God,I hate this place!!!I hate my life!!!this place is ewww,oh poor me!!!"

Yeah that's right the first few pages are absolute "bitch-moan-groan-complain" sessions.Well that should have been warning enough but being a religious bookworm you believe leaving books unfinished is bad luck,so yeah you trudge along.....

Bella meets Edward "officially"( well if you ignore the cafeteria scene when she sees the Cullen brothers and sisters having lunch)at the biology class coz well that's where you should meet vampires with a romantic interest in you,get it people?

So she es him and his reaction makes her think "Wtf,do I smell?",maybe you do Miss Strawberry🙄She is so "hurt" by his reaction that she cries,

yeah you read that right Bella CRIES because a "God knows who" strange guy she just met at school probably did not like her.Who the fuck cares,Bella?

Conceded much,Bella?

"Edward Cullen didn't come back to school. Everyday, I watched anxiously until the rest of the Cullens had entered the cafeteria without him."

How does this make any sense? You barely know the guy ,girl!!!

Not to mention none of the details adhere to any common sense in the book, not even the events correlate!

You would read about Mike asking Bella to a date to the beach, but no mention of such a thing happening anywhere in the book when Bella drones on and on about Edward. There's a whole lot of messed up timelines,if you try to understand that you will probably blow up your brains,

Hello,where's that beach trip?

And some random shit is always happening like clockwork to the disaster prone Bella(if that was supposed to be cute, well,I am truly speechless) and Edward, like the knight in shining armor he is swoops in to save the day,Huzzah!! romance at it's best, right?🙄🙄🙄

At this point you can't help asking yourself,I am still reading this?!!!

Oh yeah,I guess I am,reading on....

Umm well,I don't know if there's any better way to put it,the way love is depicted in the novel

Is downright obnoxious

Edward is torn between eating her(literally) and making out with her.

Edward is a stalker creep who watches Belle Bella sleep even before they had a single considerable conversation.

He's a control freak who gets to decide every single thing that happens in Bella's already boring life.

Well,if that's love,I am sure I am better off without it,thank you very much.

Does Bella have anything, anything at all, faintly resembling a life without Edward? When Edwards not there, she's either thinking of him and procrastinating or entering into a "poor me" vegetative state.Shit girl!get yourself a life before a boyfriend!!! :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:

I can probably go on and on but well it's gotta end somewhere right?

Has anyone else noticed that there are NO fight scenes in the book?even when they say there's definitely been one? That's like ripping the readers off...whoever the author is tell her she did a magnificent job,Huzzah!!!

And the depiction of Bella's mother is truly adorable...

Who doesn't want a mother like Renee?!

First she ships Bella off to la la Land so she could be with her new husband and then when she visits Bella at the Hospital after that encounter with James she acts like she can't be bothered to stay....good one woman...your damn daughter nearly died and you can't wait to get back to your husband?truly a good one!

The story ends with Eddie kissing our princess Bella(on her neck)at the prom....boom! You have successfully finished the test of tolerance, you are alive...and survive to tell the tale.

I don't think I need to say anything about the pacing or the writing style, cause truly?none of that actually matters....a two year old can probably write a better romance than this, sorry but it's true.

Well I can say this was the end of reading vampire romance for me, needless to say I did not try to read the next two books in the series....yeah,even I can't be that selfless, lol.

I guess thank you for ruining vampires for me,I gotta say I like it better when they are mortally afraid of the sun and get blisters than start shimmering like tinker Bell.

I am truly sorry if you found this offensive, but people can have different opinions right? So it's ok if you liked Twilight, this was just my amateur opinion.Comment what you thought about this, lol.

I thinking they were painful books to get through and my friends were obsessed to the max and needed to go to the opening day movie showings and I still don't get it. But... After all this time I've realized the movies are decent for background noise on stressful days as the music is really enjoyable so I've kinda started enjoying the movies. Every time I visited my friend a couple hours away she'd have a movie on so I think those kinda grew on me and I'm ashamed to say so lol. But the storyline, the obsessive and possessive type "love" is very far away from anything I'd like to find with real love. Should be encouraging and ive, not like what's in the books. Still don't get how these are considered a romance in a lot of ways, personally. I agree with the things you wrote.

I never really cared much about her mom tbh. But Charlie might be my favourite character. I felt so bad for him throughout the books :sob: I'm someone who knows the books aren't good when it comes to their relationship but I have this special relationship with the series so I still love it. I do get why people don't like it though.

I do have some problems with people who go on Twilight rants but this one is so well done that I agreed with almost everything :joy:

Bella is kind of an asshole too. The girl had 1 legitimate friend in the whole series and she leaves him as soon as her man comes back.

Couldn't agree more, lol, like I said she had no life without Edward, that's like disrespecting other strong female protagonists, from Katniss of the Hunger Games to Hermione from the Harry Potter books.

First off, your memes are hilarious. 2nd, I always thought the book covers were sexy too. That's the one thing Stephenie did right it seems. I cant say I hate the twilight series bc it's what got me reading in the 1st place. I think I was 9 or 10 when I read the 1st book and bc I was young and stupid and had an underdeveloped personality like Bella (also I'm a hopeless romantic) I loved them. But I've I do kinda like Jacob's character in New moon. (With that raggedy ass wig. I wanna know who cleared it.)
