It had been a bad day for Harry, from morning nothing wasgoing his way, he missed his bus reached college late, his assignment gotrejected and now he had lost his dorm key and his roommate was away.
So, he dropped his bag in the next room and went to thegarden and sat on the swings.
‘This always happens to me; this is the third time I havelost my keys.’
‘Last time also my assignment was not submitted on time andmam gave me less marks though I had worked so hard on it.’
‘Sam always goes out on his own and never include me.’
‘Maybe I am so pathetic that he doesn’t want to be with me,might as well change room?’
‘That time also when they were partying, they didn’t call me.’
‘Mom has been scolding me daily as well.’
‘I am like the definition of disappointment’
He was lost in his self-pity, ing all the bad thingsthat had happened to him in the past and all of his accumulated failures weremaking him more depressed by the second.
Sam was returning by that time and saw his roommate on hisown who looked sad so he accompanied him.
“Hey Harry!”
“Sam!” He looked surprised but then turned sad again.
“What Happened?”
“Nothing.” Now he wouldn’t say all his worries, now that hewas a part of it too.
Sam considered the situation, being with him for around twoyears now, he knew that Harry was the type who over-thinks on the trivial mattersbut also the one who cheer up soon after.
So, he took his phone and played the song that both of themliked, and Harry looked at him confused.
“ the first time we realised we were room-mates andeven had the same caller tune?” Sam asked with a smile.
“Yeah I was happy to know someone else loved this song so muchtoo.” Harry said with a smile as well.
“The first time we had an outing and you lost the key..”Harry looked at his feet at the mention of it.
“…We had so much fun in senior Danny’s room, full party modewith sleepover, our couple dance.” Sam said and both of them laughedat that embarrassing memory.
“We were scolded the very next day by the warden but westill laughed.” Harry was now starting to cheer up.
“That weekend we had to submit our assignment and we helped eachother for completing but both were late.” Sam said and laughed out loud; Harryalso ed him.
“We went to see the movie the day before the exam and justnarrowly ed, though got scolded by our moms at-least we knew that the moviewas worth it.” Sam said and smiled at Harry knowingly.
“So, what’s up?” Sam asked again.
“Nothing much, just lost my key again.” Harry saidsheepishly.
“Really!” Both of them laughed it off and went to theirroom.
