Be wary of the will-o'-the-wisps,
for they will lead you to treasures
that you wished you didn't know,
didn't see, and didn't have.

I followed the will-o'-the-wisp trail
With silent steps as they guide me
Towards where a treasure trove was kept,
A place that was long forgotten,
The path was a long and winded one,
Over mountains, across rivers,
To forests that were long forgotten
Even from maps they were once in,
But I need to be brave about this,
For I believe that the treasures
Would be what I need to change my life,
To turn it 'round for the better,
I followed the will-o'-the-wisp trail
With furtive steps as they guide me
To where a cornucopia of lost
Gold was hidden from the whole world,
This journey began with such high hopes,
But in just a day, I became
Frightened to what I might find out there,
To what curse I might awaken,
Intrusive thoughts swirled around my head,
What if there were no treasures found?
What if I will be forgotten as
I trailed the Ignis Fatui?
I followed the will-o'-the-wisp trail
In hopes they guide me to treasures,
But what I have found was an old name,
Carved in a tree within this glade,
And it is this particular tree
Within the heart of this old glade
That was vaguely familiar to me,
That gave me a sense of calmness,
'Twas both odd and infuriating
That I found nothing but a throne,
Though the name made me quite curious;
Had it belonged to some old god?
But by chance, I recognised the name,
An all too familiar one at that,
I brushed my hand to where it was carved,
And in a flash, I ed,
And that this so-called old god was me.
