1. Have You Ever Regifted A Book That You’ve Been Given?

Technically, no. I’ve either kept or donated all the books I’ve received from friends and family. However, I did once buy Five Little Pigs by Agatha Christie as gift for my friend on her birthday. But I ended up reading it before I gave it to her because I love Agatha Christie. I’m not proud of it but that book was awesome. Also, I took good care of it!

2. Have You Ever Said You’ve Read A Book When You Haven’t?

Yes, I have 🥺

In my defense, I didn’t mean to lie! It was just that a friend was reading A Tale Of Two Cities by Charles Dickens and I obviously had to tell her how much I love Sidney Carton. Because while I had never read the book, I did watch the movie. And after that point, my friend just assumed that I read the novel and I never corrected her. I’m sure she won’t care but I’ve been keeping up the ruse for too long to ever tell her the truth about this.

3. Have You Ever Borrowed A Book And Not Returned It?

I always return borrowed books... eventually.

In fifth grade, I accidentally stole two books from my teacher’s collections and only returned it 2 years later. I don’t know why, but I’ve always hoarded books I borrowed from the school library. I used to literally volunteer at the library and I still never returned my books. It was only when they threatened that I wouldn’t receive my report card unless I returned all school supplies did I get around to doing that.

4. Have You Ever Read A Series Out Of Order?

Not anymore, but I used to. Because who has the patience to wait for books to be available at the library? That’s why I started off Marissa Mayer’s Lunar Chronicles series with Scarlett instead of Cinder. I also started off the Twilight Saga by Stephanie Meyer with Breaking Dawn. I really liking that book at the time even though I had no idea who the characters were and how Edward and Bella’s relationship even came to be. I did go back to read the rest of the series though.

Also, is it just me but does everyone grow out of their Twilight phase? Almost everyone I know loved Twilight in their tweens and then grew to not care for it later on.

5. Have You Ever Spoiled A Book For Someone?

I do sometimes accidentally spoil minor details when I get too ionate about a novel but no, I’ve never really spoiled an entire book for anyone. I personally don’t mind spoilers myself and sometimes actively seek them out.

6. Have You Ever Doggy Eared A Book?

Yes, but only because bookmarks hate me and do everything they can to escape me. Sometimes I have no choice and I’d rather doggy year a page than break the book’s spine.

7. Have You Ever Told Someone You Don’t Own A Book When You Do?

No, but only because I rarely ever disclose what books I do own — it just never comes up.

8. Have You Ever Told Someone You Haven’t Read A Book When You Have?

I am proud to say that I’ve never done this. Reading is sort of like a status symbol for me, there’s no way I’d claim to not have read a book :joy: Also I’m not great at keeping secrets so I always end up telling someone about what I’m reading (even my guilty pleasures).

9. Have You Ever Skipped A Chapter Or A Section Of A Book?

I haven’t ever skipped a section but I often skim through (or skip) paragraphs if they’re excessively descriptive. I don’t think this counts but I often jump around during my rereads because I only like reading my favorite parts.

10. Have You Ever Bad Mouthed A Book You Actually Liked?

Nope. I’m pretty confident about my opinions. I’m also someone who’s easily swayed by other people’s reviews. For example if a book sounds interesting to me I usually check it out on goodreads. And if most of the top reviews (not ratings) are negative I probably won’t pick that book up. That’s why I always try to be honest in my reviews. I don’t want to accidentally dissuade someone from picking up a book just because I pretended to hate a book I actually quite liked.

Here's my thoughts on Twilight. Personally, I think we all really liked Twilight at the time of reading. But as it gained in popularity the "cool" thing to do was to start hating on it. Plus the media loves to bash anything that is liked by tween/ teen girls as "trash". As a result, we all started to say that we didn't like it or "it really wasn't that" when in fact we did really like it but wanted to fit in. At least that's my own experience.

Anyway, loved the tag and all of your answers  .

You know, I bet there’s some truth to that. But that makes me wonder, who started the Twilight hating trend? 🤔

Anyways, thanks for reading and thank you for the idea!
