A single drop of memory
A lonely thread from a tapestry
Lost in the void of life
A memory once held so dear
Once loved beyond compare
Forgotten like trivia
Never to be recalled
How lonely this memory must feel
To be tossed aside for something new
Yet by and by he will be ed
By years of life forgotten
Years and years of memory
Obscured by darkness of age
Never to be seen again
If only you had told your tales
Your childhood stories
Maybe now your ancestors
Would carry on those memories

This poem is about how we forget our memories as we age. First as a kid, we forget our infant years, then as a young adult, forget the games we played. Then when we're old, we forget so much of our lives. The ways to make the memories immortal is to tell stories to our children, and their children, and they will carry on our stories that we may not be forgotten.
