When I was reading a few chapters from “Six Of Crows” by Leigh Bardugo, I caught myself turning on some music. I kept it at a low volume so it wouldn’t distract me, yet it set the mood for the chapter I was reading.
This lead me to question: Do others prefer to have music playing in the background while reading?

It really depends like if it instrumental music I’m fine but I can’t read with word music if that makes sense
Writing with music that is in the mood of what I will write is really helpful but I can’t read with it
It really depends for me, for example, I can listen to calming music that’s soft and not to distracting, but most of the time I read with no music. :)
No. I find that music distracts me from the book. However, I do usually have the TV on.
I can’t focus at all without rain sounds or ambient music. I often find myself completely forgetting what I’ve read yesterday just because I wasn’t focused.
