Changes with the Sunrise
Headlights splash the pavement
Roads turning a navy blue
Not quite daylight
Not quite night
Buildings slice the sky in little parts
Covering nature’s art
Clouds slip across a sea of gray
It’s a pretty sight, don’t turn away
The gray with hints of periwinkle
Golden light along the horizon
Pulls the sun up over the world by an invisible string
Dawn is elegant
Graceful, and refreshing
Just like the mist and fog along with
It’ll fade
Sad but true
A lighter color will come to stay
This hue waking creatures
I sigh and know this cannot last
Soon this time will come to
The sun will rise
Day has begun
But I can look forward to the next one
