Hello, friends! I believe it's time for another discussion blog, as I love these conversations to my very bones because they give me the opportunity to get to know all of you better. This question is quite a common one, but I've found that our tastes vary according to our age, and the progression and evolution of our reading habits. Let's get started!

Here is what I'd love to discuss with you today.

∴━━━✿━━━∴

Do you buy books from physical or online bookstores, or do you prefer borrowing them from the local library?

As per usual, you can answer in the comments below or create your own blog, while tagging this one, so I won't miss any of your thoughts. As always, thank you for ing my content, and being active and productive here. You are gems.

I'll try to compile a small list of pros and cons for bookstores and libraries accordingly. Then I'll answer the question according to my personal preferences. I cannot wait to read your thoughts!

Pros Of Buying From Bookstores

:white_check_mark: A wide variety and diversity of books

:white_check_mark: Exclusive editions, box sets, signed copies

:white_check_mark: Books in brand new condition to swoon over

:white_check_mark: Sales that help you accumulate more books

:white_check_mark: The calm feeling that dances inside you there

Cons Of Buying From Bookstores

:negative_squared_cross_mark: High prices that aren't wallet-friendly

:negative_squared_cross_mark: Oftentimes the e-book collection is limited

:negative_squared_cross_mark: You cannot read your books there for long

Pros Of Using The Library

:white_check_mark: You don't have to spend too much money

:white_check_mark: Cozy atmosphere that helps you read more

:white_check_mark: Different editions of books, older ones as well

:white_check_mark: You can read more books simultaneously

:white_check_mark: You can donate books that need unhauling

Cons Of Using The Library

:negative_squared_cross_mark: Long waiting times, especially for new releases

:negative_squared_cross_mark: Not a variety of books from different languages

:negative_squared_cross_mark: There is a set reading time span (go, go, go!)

:negative_squared_cross_mark: You cannot borrow too many books at once

All in all, both choices have their advantages and disadvantages and, in the end, it all comes down to personal preferences and time management.

When it comes to me, I'm a fan of both and love them for their individual pros that I mentioned above, but I use the library more often than I buy books. It's not only due to the fact that, this way, I save more money, but it's also because I always have the thought in my mind that I need to return the book at a specific date. This keeps me more focused and motivated to read more and plan my time according to how many books I read simultaneously. And I usually read multiple books at once. Let's mingle these worlds.

Furthermore, I absolutely love the aesthetic and vibe inside libraries. They have this cozy atmosphere that makes me want to sit there for hours and forget everything about the real world. I cannot do this at bookstores and usually I find myself silently looking at what other people are trying to buy and see if that's a good choice for me or not (not a stalker, just a weird book lover, hahaha!).

In conclusion, libraries work better for me due to my demanding work schedule and my need for focused reading and prioritizing. I like saving money for traveling, video games, and other things I love. So, in this war, libraries are the winner to me.

Let me know what you prefer, lovely people!

I like the bookstore a few towns over from me. You can go there and sit for hours reading on the window benches or in their starbucks area. I prefer buying books over going to the library because I hate the time limit
