2019 TBR

I still have 2 more books I need to finish that I was gonna to read last year, but we'll put them on hold for now. I can count how many books I read last year on one hand. It was definitely a hiatus year and now I'm slowly getting out of it by reading Cassandra Clare's other series besides "The Mortal Instruments." Maybe I'll have the effort to finish Shadowhunters Season 3. I usually end up reading one book in one day when I finally pick it up and then avoid reading for a long time. Anyways, here is my reading list I hope to accomplish. I made it quite short so there's wiggle room for other books I encounter who those on the list I don't end up liking. I'm honestly not sure about this book. I feel like I'll either really like it or hate it. I feel like this often happens when it comes to stories revolved around world building. It's on my TBR list right now, but I'll probably put it on the back burner.

I'm finally on the bandwagon for this one. I love the superhero trope. I also love unique villains, so I hope there's a complicated misunderstood character that I'll get to sympathize with. Vengeance is also a good trope if it's not for a stupid reason, like hating the person your ex is dating. I have a lot of hopes for this one.

I'm so excited for this! Female representation! There are so many assumptions that females can't handle blood, guts, and gore. I also love murder mystery, so I have high expectations for this.

Reasons

I tend not to find Lgbt+ stories I like that aren't on Wattpad. I'm not sure why. Maybe because they are often realistic fiction and I don't really care for that genre. However, this seemed interesting especially since it's about a writer and I feel like it might have good character development.

Archnemeses! I hope that both Victor and Eli's point of views will be shown. I always want to get both sides of the story before I pick someone to cheer for. Again, I love the supernatural powers trope. I just hope it's unique.

I saw the movie already, so I'm excited to read the book. I loved Juliet's stubbornness and kindness, so I want to fall in love with her even more. I also like the historical fiction part as well.

Again, I'm going to wait on this one and see if I'm still interested later. It feels like it might be like Sleeping Beauties, but maybe a little shorter. I am looking for a stand-alone book, since there aren't really any that I enjoy around, so maybe this will be the one.

I'm hoping this will be a little comedic. I love the fake dating and bad boy tropes as well. I'm actually quite excited about this one. It comes out on April 23rd, so I still have to wait a few months.

This gives me Guernsey vibes. Another female writer who I'm sure inspires others with her advice column. This comes out August 13th.

It's been awhile since I've read The Infernal Devices, which contains all the characters I need to know since this series is about their children. It comes out on November 19th, which gives me a lot of time to read it again and probably reread all of Clare's series.

I'm so excited that we finally have a series based on Malec! This one's definitely the one I'm most looking forward to. I hope to have some very cute romantic moments. The first book comes out April 2nd.
