Hello everybody! I'm Alecs, a curator here in BA, and I'm going to get right into the topic, as this is quite important.

Before I begin, although this is important, I'd just like to put a trigger warning on this post. If you feel as if the possibility of reading this post may possibly trigger you, I suggest you stop reading now.

A potentially unsafe member (a PUM) is a member/ of this Amino that could possibly be dangerous to other , including you!

Here are some examples:

•Scammers

•Hackers

•Creeps or pedophiles

Although these are some of the main groups, be aware that there are other ways a member could be unsafe.

PUMs

Scammers

Scammers are people who may try to take your money. Often times, scammers will ask you to pay for something in return.

Hackers

A hacker is somebody who could gather unauthorized information from you or to your private using technology.

Creeps/pedophiles

A creep is simply just a detestable person, however in this context on this Amino, a creep may be somebody looking for inappropriate pictures, videos, or chats with you. A pedophile is a creep over the age of 18 who targets minors (children under the age of 18), so if you're not a minor, you don't need to worry about pedophiles as much as you do creeps.

Common phrases

Here is a list of common phrases you may here from these people that may mean they are a PUM. Of course, this isn't a 100% indicator that somebody is a PUM, but they CAN be, and it's always good to have your eye on them.

Common phrases from a PUM:

• "Let's chat somewhere else"

• "Do you have hangouts?"

• "Do you have any other form of social media?"

• "Can I see what you look like?"

• "Can I see more photos of you?"

• "What do you look like from the back?"

• "Can I see you turned around?"

• "Click here for more information"

• "Just click on the link, it's nothing bad"

• "I'm selling ______ for money"

• Has "Looking for fun" in their bio

Reporting

You could always report these to one of the leaders or curators. This does not mean we can always ban them right away unless they directly violate the guidelines. However, it's important to steer clear of some of these people.

Just that sometimes these people may not be PUMs, for example a longtime Amino friend of yours may ask if you'd rather chat somewhere else because they're more active on that platform, and they enjoy talking with you.

Either way, these messages can easily be quite dangerous, and leave you winding up in certain unfair situations if you continue to these PUMs. So please be sure to report them to us!
