I'm out to a certain amount of people but not to everyone. Some of my friends know but my family doesn't.
1. My best friend:
I started developing feelings for one of my best friend so I told my other best friend about it because I needed someone to talk to. She ensured me she would always be there for me and that she'd always me. I wasn't that familiar with the whole LGBT community so I didn't know what I was, I just knew that I love both boys and girls. That was really a confusing time but it was nice to have someone to talk to. Once I figured it all out i came out to a second person.
2. My other best friend/crush at the time:
The second person I came out to was said best friend I had a crush on. We've been friends for so long but over time I started to develop a crush on her (this is what made me realize I was bi in the first place). So I simply told her I felt more for her than friendship. And in the conversation following we just talked about a lot of things. She was very accepting.
3. Some photographer I had to make a sassy comment to:
Okay so this story is kinda funny (at least it was for me).
So I was helping at the charity event for my church and there is always this man who photographs the whole thing for us. He was photographing the stand I and an other woman were managing. He wanted some pictures of the both of us so we posed toghetter, just simply smiling. When he was done, that womans young son came running towards us so she lifted him into her arms.
The photographer then took some more pictures of us and or stand before handing us a business card and saying: "You can send me an email and I'll send you the pictures." he then turned towards the little boy and continued, "but be careful I may steal you teddybeer," before turning to me "and your boyfriends."
I cassualy replied "that would probably be a girlfriend."
His face of pure shock was amazing. This man started this story about how his niece liked girls for a while and is now happily married to a man, heavily implying he thought to was just a phase. I simply said something like we'll see and started helping customers again.
Some people came to me a few minutes later telling me how brave I was to be so open about it. I couldn't really think of anything but shrugs and reply that I didn't want to hide who I was and that we live in a free country.
I said girlfriend because I'm more attracted to girls than I am to boys and I didn't feel the need to explain bisexuality to this man (specially after his reaction implying it was just a phase).
4. My school friends:
This is the last 'story' for today and isn't that special.
I was just talking with some school friends about crushes and boyfriends when I told them about one crush mentioning as she. At first I didn't even realize I said that but when the look very confused, I stopped mid sentence said, and I quote, "I'm bi." before continuing my story where I left off.
Lucky they we're very accepting too.
