Update on an Update
Daedric tore his fins in the BioCube. I didn’t want to deal with any more fin issues with him (since he’s usually really good with his fins) so I asked to set up his old 3.7 gallon and switch him over to that. Luckily, my fiancé’s parents allowed me to set up the second tank, so hopefully he’ll keep his fins in good shape! He’s in there with all of his old decor and whatnot since I know he doesn’t tear his fins on them.

He’s been in the smaller tank for a while now, and it’s very obvious that he’s happier in the smaller space. He enjoyed exploring the BioCube, but it was noticeably tiring for him to travel around the large space due to his big finnage, so he’d just rest more than anything else. Now that he’s been switched over, he’s much more happy and active, and swimming flawlessly. Additionally, he’s also got his proud aggression back lol.

So I’m glad I was able to get him back in his old tank! I’m much more comfortable with him being in a smaller tank anyhow, so this worked out pretty well - minus the fin tears, but I’m not stressing over those too much. They’re pretty much completely healed up already anyway!

I also decided to get a new light for this tank. The other was okay, but I wanted something a bit brighter since he’s in the kitchen. It was a little more than what I wanted to spend on a light, but I’m very happy with it!

Same with one of my ed bettas, being a double tail with a messed up spine, I can’t imagine him having to haul around his Fins in more than a 3 gallon. I’m glad your handsome lad is enjoying the new tank! It looks stunning... I may I have to take it. :eyes:
Aww poor guy, that sounds rough. I’m glad he had a cozy home thanks to you, though! Some bettas simply require a smaller tank to be comfortable, I wish more people would be understanding of that sometimes. Pls don’t take my tank, I love it :cry: :joy:

Some People definitely need to realise tank size isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ scenario!
