Hey all!! I sort of lost track on the week one blog, but I thought I’d give you an updated picture of the tank, as well as go over some things I’ve learned!

That’s what the tank looks like at the moment! I know, not aesthetically pleasing, but it is getting through the cycling process! I believe we’re nearing the end, as both algae has grown in the tank as well as some new Amazon Sword shoots! I did have to replace the Rosette Sword in the front with a Java Fern, as the Sword didn’t survive the cycle. I also grabbed the Anubias from Ruger’s old tank and threw it in here, as his tank was being changed into an artificial plant tank by my sister. I also added some shrimp to help manage the algae, as it was getting a bit out of control! This cycling has been amazing and I feel like I’m really learning a lot about my plants. I’ve figured out how to balance out the ammonia, nitrates, and nitrites, and I really feel like this has been a successful learning process so far. The tank still has much progress to make, but for now I thought it was a good time to update and encourage those who might be going through the same tank phase as me! Here is a small video of Ruger, as I don’t think I’ve properly introduced him!
