My journey

I wanted to write this to show you that although we make mistakes, we learn from them and this is especially important in pet care. I hate to it it but we all do them and sharing these might be a good way of educating others! Here is my journey!

So I started my fishkeeping journey in about 2012. I was given fish for birthdays, and events. I was about 8 years old at this time. I didnt know how to care for fish and my parents usually just purchased any old fish bowl, filled it up and called it a day. I adored these little companions and just assumed they only lived for a couple of weeks.

The next tank I had was gifted to me out of the blue by my Auntie. The people at my pet store told me 4 zebra danios would do just fine in a 3 gallon. Two of them died quickly after whilst the other two went on to live 4 years. I am ashamed to it it, but I didn't do my research.

Now, just after the ing of my danios, I became obsessed with bettas. Something about their cute little faces and adorable personalities hooked me in. I'd spend hours, often creeping into the early hours of the morning, researching bettas. Everything to different tail types, o f to medications, to [Finally] the nitrogen cycle! It was completely obsessive. I was gifted a tank again but this time a 5.5 gallon and and decided to adopt a little betta from my LFS, suddenly into the world of live plants. He's my little pal and I'm glad that I could provide a happy home for him!
