I’m getting a sponge filter to replace my other one. But is this all I need to get the filter to work? I’m so confused about how sponge filters work. Do I need to buy other products?

I use a different type of sponge filter because the one you’re looking at was too confusing for me 🤣 because with some you need an air stone too and then others you don’t. I bought dual ones that stick on the glass and have a lil thingy you push the airline tubing into and I bought tetra whisper air pumps they’re super quiet. If you get one and it’s loud it’s likely broken/or you need to put a towel or something under it because they vibrate. I can send photos if that would help?
They are powered by the air bubbles. As the bubbles rise through the tube it pulls the water up with it and that's how the filter functions
