My tanks are full of elodea because it’s easy to find, grows super fast and can be broken up into new strands that grow easy. I’m lucky to have a pond that I can throw plants into and then harvest way more from later. :joy:
These are great questions!
My favorite fast growing plant id say is the elodea, they grow quickly in tall strands, and if you want to propgate this plant, you just cut the top off and plant it. Im planning on buying some of these to make an elodea forest :joy: theyre very similar to hornworts, but unlike hornworts, they do not release chemicals into the water that slow the rest of your plants growth (or so im told).
As for easy plants, id definitely reccomend anubias plants. There are many different subspecies and hybrids, so they can come in almost any size, depending on what you buy. Theyve got nice leaves, and theyre very hardy. The only downside is their slow growth. I have 3 subspecies in my tanks already, and theyre awesome.
Good luck with your plant search, i hope this helped!
Thank you so much! Where are some good places to buy Elodea? I've seen it on Petsmart's website but I haven't seen it in store yet.

Im planning on ordering it on amazon, but you can find it on ebay too!
Just make sure to read the reviews when youre planning on buying, as some may use chemicals to remove pest snails thatll kill shrimp as well, while others may bring pest snails into your tank
Here is my list of easy plants I like:
Anubias, bucephalandra, ludwigia repens, guppy grass, amazon swords, java fern, bacopa, cabomba, water wisterias, dwarf water lettuce, crypts, most types of moss and marimo moss ball
Most of these are fast growing except for anubias, water lettuce, bucephalandra, and Java ferns.

Yup, it's a great idea to hear other's opinions.
I just never realize who Im talking to until much later lol
Hi again! I got some bacopa today. I really want it to grow well so it's not a waste of money haha. Any tips on growing it? I put it in the gravel with a root tab beside the roots.

They tend to thrive on their wont without any help. You'll be all good.
