So, I’m confused. This turned up while I was at school today. I had my room completely dark because she was glass surfing. I don’t know if this is just from the filter or she is actually a he. So please help, do you think this is a real bubble nest?

It could be a nest but I have had those kinda filters do that it's normal. Females an Male can make nests. If she has a eggspot shes female for sure. Looking at her picture it's a girl 100%.
This is a bubble nest! Filter bubbles are often much larger and pop, whereas bubble nests are made of small bubbles that stick closely together. And I believe both genders make bubble nests :)
Adding to that, it is rare for a female to make a bubble nest as far as I know but it can happen
