Breeding is so stressful on me right now
I had to buy a second pair of Bettas because the first pair that I bought had some complications and I could not breed them. Now my 2nd pair, they're great! The male is wonderful but the female, however, is not too bright... She will not react to the male at all & Its just annoying me. I'm giving her till late September to get herself together before I buy another female. I'm just a tad annoyed.

Is she ready to spawn when your introducing them I don’t know much about breeding bettas but I’ve breed other fish at college and I know that females don’t react if they’re not ready to go
I'm not breeding anything till at least December, so she's not ready to spawn, but I've been trying to allow them to see each other and flare a bit. With my original pair the female seems Interested & will flare back at the male (even though she's not ready) However this female is just not reacting at all and its almost like she isn't able to see him, though she can see me & will flare at me & my finger, so she's not visually impaired. And the male can see her, so it's not like she isn't able to see him through the tank. I know that you should allow them to see each other before conditioning/breeding to make sure the female isn't scared of the male & that she is reactive. But she's just doesn't seem to care about him in the least

May just have a docile fish or she simply doesn’t care I checked out some stuff online after writing and most people only introduce the female to the male a few days before mating but that might just be the stuff I found again not a betta breeder I’ve breed trout of nearly every kind ,bluegill ,pumpkinseed, and perch which have a way different process but never bettas so I’ve no clue. good luck I hope it works out for ya and they breed

Everyone has different methods of breeding that work for them so some people may only introduce them a few days before & some may allow them to see each other every day leading up to the day of spawning. It really depends on method. Thank you, though!
