⤐ About Marilyn ⬷

Marilyn is a really feisty gal! When eating, she darts at it and scarfs it down like it is going to attack her or somebody is going to take it. She is also a jumper. Just lifting the lid for a couple of seconds her tank always has to be supervised, just in case. She always flares around and makes her bubble nests to show she is the boss! However, if she sees you or if you move her her personality totally flips and she turns into a scared little betta girl. I feel bad, so whenever she encounters a water change I try to make it as stress-free as possible, or I never get too close to the glass when checking on her. So basically Marilyn is a softy in disguise.

I have had Marilyn since August 14th of this year, so about a month now.

So I was cruising the internet looking at bettas that I’m not aloud to get (doesn’t everyone?). I eventually give up and go on BKA, and scroll through the latest feed to see what’s up. I come across a post of a bunch of male bettas and two females, posted by Colorsbetta Thailand. I looked through the bettas and at the bottom of the post.. I saw her. She was absolutely gorgeous to me. Although I knew I couldn’t get her, I was curious, and pmed the seller. One thing led to another after asking the price, and I was on her eBay page and I wrote four paragraphs to my stepmom about how I want her and how I’ve been amazing lately and I would pay for the fish. Eventually, I bidded for her (I got too impatient though and paranoid so I bought her a couple minutes later lmao). Now everything I did I have learned from. I did not have a cycled tank ready and had to start on that, causing Marilyn to live in a tiny bowl for six days, and I also was not aware of how much transhipping could cost. But soon she was in her tank, happy, and getting used to her new home :).

Literally any food we get her she loves. She always eats when she sees the food. She hates fasting day lol.

I’m going to have to say there’s a couple favorite moments. One time I was transferring her from her bowl to her tank and during that time (we had to travel downstairs to upstairs) she ed a ray of sunlight and oh my goodness she looked beautiful. Also during a water change, she made a bubble nest and swam around a bunch, super proud. It was adorable!

Marilyn was named after Marilyn Monroe. Also, she is a Nemo Galaxy HMPK. Her colors are light and dark orange, white, and pink. And lastly, Marilyn has one dark blue eye and one light blue eye.
